Same here, about 12.30am it was. I saw Higgins go 17-13 up and decided that was enough for me.

He was awesome in the last couple of frames, he must have really psyched himself out after the third last frame he won, because his last two frames were like exhibition stuff.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

      * After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

Watched a couple of games this year but Dennis Taylor got on my nerves so much I had to turn over

Good luck with the bet..he's 50/1 for a reason surely?

Yes because he is 3-5 down in his 1st round match. It's upto 10 frames though, so still plenty of time to come back!

p.s. leave Dennis alone, the 1985 final was one of my great childhood memories!!!

Ebdon v Bond should finish some time in the next week or two.

If I'd paid and ended up watching that snorefest I would have wanted my money back. That McLeod is snail like as well. In fact for some reason I have found it all very dull so far, usually I love it.

I did actually stand outside the Crucible on Saturday and see McLeod start his match, so watched a little bit of history with the first black player to appear at The Crucible Theatre

You could see him playing from your pitch outside the Crucible?

Used to love it but can't get into it these days.

They have a big screen TV outside. I never had tickets I was in Sheffield to catch up with some mates, we had some girls with us I think that was their idea of hell. In fact most of my mates would probably have agreed. It is a dying sport sadly.

The Ding/Liang game is surely the first World Snooker Championship match where the participants' names are an anagram of a Chuck Berry song.

                      .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

I see Bond v Ebdon finished!

In the game between Ebdon and Bond, a tentative start from both players meant just one point was scored in the first 15 minutes of the first frame, which Bond eventually won after a gruelling hour and forty eight minutes.

Haha that's insane If I play a frame that lasts longer than about 20 minutes I completely lose patience and concentration
