I dont get why O'Sullivan bothers carrying on with snooker. He claims to hate it so much, he doesnt need the money - why put yourself through something you apparently hate?

The same reason you keep on supporting Liverpool, even tho you dislike the manager, the style of play and the majority of the players on the pitch...cos you just don't know any other way of life, cos it's in your blood.

I think it frustrates the hell out of him cos his standards are so ridiculously high, he knows/thinks he should pot every ball and make every safety shot. I imagine he gets a right ****ing buzz out of it when he thinks he's played well and maybe that's why he carries on...looking for that elusive buzz.

i am not sure whether its things arent as he wants so he gets knoby or he gets knoby and it takes his focus away and things dont go his way.

He dont like it when the attention isnt on him, im glad he's out - he is a first class knob. It wouldnt surprise me if the rest of the players didnt like him either.

Still, gutted Ronnie lost, but as Selby is one of me favourites, i'm not too dischuffed.

No, i like Benitez, but i dont think he's the best man to manage Liverpool.

Liking someone doesnt make them the best person for a job.

When I was a kid I was a massive Davis fan (sad I know) and I went to an autograph signing (at Boots in Barnsley. I have no idea why he ended up there).

He spilt a bit of ink on the table and completely dead pan pointed at it "That's my ink. Don't touch that."

I was a wee nipper with low standards so had him down as a comical genius as well as a snooker genius

He really did make the effort with the young fans but, even when he was busy at his peak. Fantastic guy in every way and it made me very sad to see his decline and his refusal to accept it.

He's way better than being remembered as a 3rd rate player.

We don't get snooker over here so I don't get to watch it, one of the things I miss. Nothing like it on a lazy Sunday afternoon when hungover.

I always liked Davis as a kid too, I never saw him as boring. I remember him on Wogan in the mid 80s and he told an anecdote about a time he went to a very posh dinner party; at one point someone said "I say, do you mind if I leave the table for a moment?". A few minutes later Davis said "I say, do you mind if I fart?" and, as an eight year old lad, I thought it was one of the funniest things I'd ever heard.
