    Hatton Vs Castillo

For the first time in years the Ricky Hattons fight will NOT be shown on Sky. Instead Setanta have bought the rights to the fight. It's not a pay per view event for existing Setanta subscribers but people who don't already subscribe to Setanta will have to pay £15 to watch the fight. For the £15 you fork out you not only get the Hatton fight but also a free months subscription to Setanta with no obligation to continue the agreement. Seems fair enough, no?

Yes - a far better deal than SKY would have given us.

The only thing I'll miss is the build up through the week leading up to the fight. When is the fight btw Kurt?

Forgot to add - will there be a stream for this !!! ha ha

      The fights on June 23rd.

One of my mates reckons that the coverage you get on Setanta is the HBO coverage. He watched the Jones Jr Vs Ruiz fight on Setanta a few years back and there was none of the ****e that Sky give you it was just Larry Merchant and Lennox Lewis etc...

        Forgot to ask.

        Who's winning this one?

I'll go for Hatton late stoppage.

I'll go for Hatton to win this one aswell, this is more his territory that most of his more recent fights. Ill say Hatton on points.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

          * After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

Yeah it wouldn't surprise me if it went to points.

Just as an asdie I just heard Billy Graham being interviewed on the Hatton web-site and he said that had De La Hoya won on Saturday and Ricky beat Castillo both De La Hoya and Hatton were set to fight at Welterweight later this year.

Golden Boy Promotions and most notably De La Hoya had put the deal in place and everything was agreed. There is a chance that the fight may still take place but it's a case of wait and see. If the De La Hoya fight doesn't come off then the one they want is Mayweather but so far he's resisited any temptation.

One more fight for Hatton after Castillo and then he's done apparently and that's why they want one or the other.

De La Hoya didn't look like a fighter on Sunday morning who waned to quit just yet. I think he would be too much for Hatton though, just too strong for him, I even think De La Hoya might see Hatton as easy prey as he has struggled with power at that weight and would be well within range of his punches, unlike Mayweather.

Excellent news about the Hatton fight. I'm thinking of subscribing to Setanta. This may have swung the deal.

I would favour Hatton. Castillo is not the fighter he once was, although he is still a very good fighter, but 17 years as a pro is showing on him now. I think Hatton trumps him in nearly all departments and is meeting him at just the right time. Think it will go the distance with Hatton winning by about four, or maybe five, rounds.
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.
