Cheers for that lads, was in newcastle on a stag do and nowhere was showing it
Just look at the face: it's vacant, with a hint of sadness. Like a drunk who's lost a bet.

arguably the best fight I have seen Hatton in, he looked really determined to give the World and especially the American public a vintage Hatton performance. He delivered in some style too.
However, straight after the fight, there was lots of talk about De La Hoya, Floyd Mayweather, Cotto etc. Most likely all would want to fight him at Welterweight, would be a big risk for Ricky to step up to that weight division on hope he has the same punching effect as he has at Light Welter weight. Personally, I think he could do with another couple of performances like that at Light Welter, then if he want to go to Welterweight, then so be it. I would just hate to see Ricky loose his unbeaten run prematurely, which is very possible and most likely IMO if he did take up the challenge.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

              * After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

Just heard on the radio that Hatton wants to set up a Mayweather fight.
I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
                  Mine angry and defrauded young?

should be good for the punters, but not for Hatton if it goes ahead, I cant see Ricky beating Mayweather at all.

Not only can I not see Hatton beating him, I can see Mayweather schooling Hatton. Not that I think Hatton is not a top fighter, just that Mayweather is a step above anyone else around at the moment, a bit like Roy Jones Jnr at his peak, so good that it is hard for him to be in a good fight.
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Junior was a class act, most technically gifted boxer I have ever seen, better than Mayweather even, unfortunately, he went the way of the Hollywood boxer, thought he could do it all, play basket ball, act in films, film premiers. Going up and down weight divisions too frequently. Was hard for him to be in a competitive fight, still gave some good exhibitions though. Something that Mayweather doesn't do, some of his fights are a tad boring.

Yeah a lot of Mayweather's fights are dull, but a lot of that is because his opponents do not have the ability to extend him and force him to dig deep, leaving Mayweather to cruise through fights, doing enough to win.

I think he is the best defensive boxer on the planet at the moment, and his technical ability is a joy to watch.
