Angel Manfredy, Diego Corrales, A top form Jose Luis Castillo (twice), Arturo Gatti, Genaro Hernandez, Zab Judah, and Oscar De La Hoya.

There are a lot of tough men and classy boxers on that list, with most being close to their best, with the exception of Gatti and maybe De La Hoya.

I think Mayweather gets regarded as lacking in heart by many, and that he doesn't like it when a fight gets rough, to anyone that thinks that I would recommend getting to watch a lot more of his fights. - have seen most of them

Hatton to me is a top class fighter, one who would beat most fighters in his class, and one who easily steps into any all time best British Boxer listing. But If a 100% ready Hatton were to meet a 100% Mayweather, I just cannot see Hatton winning at all. Hatton's style is tailor made for a brilliant defensive fighter like Mayweather imho. - it could be said that a defensive fighter such as mayweather was tailor made for an attacking fighter such as hatton

Hope it comes off though, as it would be a must go to night at the MGM methinks.

agree 100% although I think Mayweather would stop Hatton.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

      * After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

Lovely would love to see this fight would be a big risk by Ricky but if he did fight i can see it been his last if he wins and if he doesnt a rematch but Floyd would do him twice

Hatton is no Gatti. When Floyd fought Gatti he was shot hence the reason Floyd beat him the way he did. I don't see the sam happening if Ricky and Floyd ever fight.

            Good analysis mate

Mayweather will be too much for Hatton. Hatton is a gutsy fighter, but doesnt have the style or Technique to Trouble Mayweather.

Yes Mayweather is a show boat out of the ring, but no one can fault his performance inside the ring

November 10th at either Wembey or more likely the Thomas & Mack in Vegas is rumoured to be the date of the fight.

Wembley obvioulsy has it's plusses due to the capacity but it'd be freezing in there even with the roof closed.

Vegas seems most likely and apparently negotiations are on going.

Both camps want the fight. It's just a question of how much the purse is split. Mayweather has apparently been offered £6million up front. Put that together with world wide PPV rights and he could be earning almost as much as he did for the De La Hoya fight.

This is all news I've picked up on Hattons website where one of the lads who knows Ricky and his dad well claims that November 10th in Vegas or Wembley is being discussed seriously.

Yep, Pretty has been made an offer Ricky's about to get his ass kicked. Which makes me sad since I'm a Hatton fan.

Jaco - how do you think Mayweather would cope with close in fighting and concentrated body shots?

Would he just have the skill to dictate the style of fight? Would love to see this one happen.

Not an issue, Hatton won't get close enough anyway. Hatton has decide head movment and his feet are pretty good as well, but you can often catch Hatton with uppercuts and hooks. Pretty Boy has a deadly lead right hand that will catch Hatton all night.

saying what you think will happen doesnt mean it will happen, nothing we say can be fact here but for what its worth I THINK hatton will win as his style will cause mayweather all sorts of problems.

                        No chance mate.
Mayweather has fought some top class opponents, won world titles at 5 different weights, has avoided being hurt by bigger stronger and arguably better boxers than Hatton and is still undefeated. Mayweather would have to be a massive favourite for this fight.

Agree 100% I just cannot see Hatton doing any better than maybe winning 4 or 5 rounds. Mayweather has fought bigger, faster, stronger, and harder hitting fighters than Hatton. I have seen Mayweather fight live six times and seen pretty much the rest of his fights on tv or tape, and the tv does not do him justice at all.

His movement is brilliant and this may seem an odd comment to some, but his breathing technique as a fight wears on is amazing. He does little things so well, and is so economical with what he shows. But he can fight also, has a very good chin, and great body and mental toughness. Hatton would not be able to fight him up close like he did with Castillo, as Mayweather is a deceptively good infighter as well as being a defensive genius.

Would be a bull and matador fight imho. With the bull bloodied and battered by the end.

I, using my boxing knowledge and gut feeling, fancy Hatton to surprise you, you however, are going with the better boxer, one thing we all agree on is lets get it on!
