If Chicken Joe would have wanted to go to the states to fight one of their top dogs - then surely he'd have done it by now no? For whatever reason - he and Warren have decided to take an alternative route in order to 'cement his legacy' (Calzaghe's words not mine). This 'legacy' would obviously not include headlining a bill in Vegas or New York as Hatton is currently doing, but it will include fighting some bloke off a tv reality show.

Hmm, what's with the Chicken Joe?
Well, Calzaghe will ruin Kessler, and any other decent fighter coming his way, as much as you don't want to think so. Personally i think there is no other fighter at Calzaghe's level. But that's my opinion. Im sure we'll see what happens, should be good.

                :
It's just me havin' a pop at him since he chose to fight some bum from the telly instead of looking for this career defining fight which he's been banging on about for the last couple of years whilst telling anyone who'll listen that he's the best in the world.

It's a disgrace that one of the self claimed best boxers ever has never topped a bill in the States at 35 years old. Year after year its excuse after excuse on why its never happened and it does my head in.

I actually think he's a great lad and a supremely talented boxer but serious questions need to be asked about him/his management/or both about how his career has gone imo. Not in that sense that he's had a **** career because its far from it, he's unbeaten, is a multi millionaire and has fought infront of big crowds at home but in the sense of why theres a lack of big names on his record and why he's never done America.

Surely he must look at Hatton now and be jealous? He ****ed Warren off and is now topping bills in the states with there now talk of fighting the best pound for pound in the World or a boxing legend in De La Hoya.

Kessler is a good choice next but despite Kessler being good, next best behind Joe it still strikes me as the safe option when he could be fighting a massive name in the States instead, then again with big crowds in Wales going to his fights i'll be surprised if it ever changes, Warren certainly wont so its up to Joe.

He's a quality fighter mate and it wouldnt surprise me if he beat Joe but it seems to me that its the safer option instead of going to the states and fighting a big name where the judges are likely to be against him.

I'm probably being harsh really as if he'd had some fights in the states previously I'd be saying how great it is he's fighting Kessler infront of 60k + in his own country etc. Its just my paranoid side always thinks theres an agenda with "Team Calzaghe" rather than just fighting the best in the best places. I'll retract that one though as its defo a bit harsh.

Definitely, and if he wins his reputations shoots up even more especially in Wales enough for Warren to have him fight a nobody and probably draw 45k + at the Millenium again next Spring.
