'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

Enjoyed that, I gave it to Winky by 2 myself but its obviously hugely difficult to call and could easily of gone either way.

I think its fair to say 2 judges having Hopkins by 6 are idiots though.

You always get that in Vegas though, Really depends on what style of fighting the judges like sometimes, I guess this time, they prefered the more controlled approach from Hopkins, where as others would have preferred Wright's come forward style.

On another note, that 21 year old Philipino Katsidis beat was admitted to hospital with some bleeding on the brain, the report I read said he'd recover but will probably never box again.

Such a shame, he tooks 100s upon 100s flush in the face it seemed like, the ringside doc did seem concerned during the fight aswell. Being able to take a load of hard punches is a great quality but also unfortunately leaves someone in the ring longer to get hit more and more.

                    That is a shame alright,
to be honest, I think boxers are getting stronger all the time, especially in the states, I just hope the likes of Gatti can now realise it is time to hang up his gloves.

Yeah agree mate, not only is it an increased risk of injury for the likes of Gatti etc its also gutting to watch someone like that being humiliated by people like Alfonso ****ing Gomez. Easy to say now I suppose but he should of hung the gloves up after the Mayweather battering and saved himself humiliations against Baldo and Gomez.

Pretty sure that Gatti announced his retirement after his beating last weekend.

The biggest lie in boxing though aint it? He's already "retired" before. Hopefully he sticks to it this time.

I hope he means it too, it's obvious he doesn't have the ability for the very top level any more.

Yeah far too many boxers 'retire' for six months at a time. Hopefully Gatti's management will prevent him from returning to the ring. He's been in a lot of battles and took some hefty beatings in his last few fights.

I was sure both of them were good friends and partners in Golden Boy promotions which leads me to think that it might have been staged.
                                You'd be right!

Just watched it having avoided this thread all day. I had Hopkins winning it by one or two....although I thought he was a bit dirty at times and could easily have lost a point.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’
