    The Open - Carnoustie

Well this time last year the Open was at Royal Liverpool, in Hoylake literally a stones throw from my apartment and the weather was unbelievably hot. This time round the open is at Carnoustie and the weather stays **** there are goin to be a few high scores, should be interested.

One thing to note, some lad i played with/against as juniors a fair few times (when i was good) has qualified for it this year.

Paul Waring from Bromborough tees off at 14:09 with Aaron Baddeley and Ben Curtis, good luck Paul.

A depressing thought; a) because the time has gone so quickly and b) I remember vividly how hot it was and today has seen some of the most violent rain I've seen for, ooh, a fortnight.

I remember Sergio Garcia bursting into tears in his Mum's arms all those years ago after finishing about 30 over par, the last time the Open was held at Carnoustie.

Looking forward to it...and good luck to your old mate.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

The course is supposed to be a lot easier this year. The rough isn't as long and the course they used for the US Open (Oakmont) is supposed the be a lot harder. Having said that it's still a beast of a course and hopefully we can have a European win.

The weather is ****ing fantastic up here.

Hoping to spend Thursday there, and if all goes well the final day.

A great round for your mate. A better round than both Faldo and Jacklin!

Speaking to a few mates of the fella Higgins (Ireland) who just qualified recently.

                      +8, oh dear.

No offence, obv, but I bet he shoots about 80 today. Happens so often with amateurs or youngsters.
