    Henman humbled

Tim Henman made the worst possible start to the North American hardcourt season with a 4-6 6-4 7-6 (7-4) defeat by world number 416 John Isner in Washington on Tuesday.

The Brit battled away but came up short against a player who had never previously won an ATP Tour match.

"It's bally tough when you lose by just a few points to a chap of that nature," he said afterwards.

"You just have to give yourself more opportunities in the future."

Despite his failure to reach further than the second round in the past 2 years, Henman has reiterated his desire to keep playing. He is regarded as one of the best players not to win a Grand Slam.

        He's a 'grade A' fud.

I don't really understand the animosity to Henman.

He is clearly in decline but he used to be a good player and has been the only half decent British player until Murray for a very long time.

If there ever was a player that should pack it in, it's Henman. He's guaranteed to get a job on the bbc for commentating at Wimbledon, so he'll be fine.

I would never begrudge a player of any sport trying to keep playing though. If you love the game and the competition it is a lot to give up.

Maybe if he cleared some of that excess plaque off his crooked teeth he might glide around the court quicker

Are you angling for a new career as a sports dentist?

                        sounds good

I could help Tiger Tim by simply removing them with a well placed right hook

He seems very shy about showing his teeth.

                          .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Might I suggest that there's been some typical meddling with this quote...

Nobody would've hated Henman if he'd been a bit ****ter.
