I agree, what a daft thing to say. Where are there more welsh people at the moment, Paris or Wales...actually you're right, if they'd held it in Paris the other nation's supporters could've topped it up.Originally posted by Kaip View PostYou are on crack

I still don't think we'll finish in the top 4 this season."

I think the empty seats was down to a number of things myself:Originally posted by FatTony View PostI agree, what a daft thing to say. - late kick off meaning not many from outside South Wales bothered going to a midweek match especially as it was on the telly ( the time it takes to travel back up to North Wales late at night with work the following morning wasn't worth the hastle for a game Wales would have won easily);
- poor to average performances of late under Gareth Jenkins has some fans staying away;
- fans who'd been to the Australia game paying huge ticket prices weren't going to shell out again for the midweek game against Japan.
It would have been better, in my opinion, if they'd have played it in France in a smaller stadium as more neutrals would have attended helping to fill the stadium.

Exactly what?Originally posted by thesilverfoxlfc View PostExactly
You can't make excuses about it benig a late kick off, it only takes 2 hours to get from North to South Wales and this is the World Cup, its not like it happens every week is it and I'm sure there are enough people down here to fill the stadium. The only people I know here that went were corporate!
Fans may be skint fromt he Australia game, but thats only 60 or 70,000 welshmen. Whats happened to the other 3.5 million?
In hindsight it would've been better to play it in a smaller stadium as its quite clear that Wales isn't the rugby loving nation that it proclaims to be.

no fella, the disgrace is that i paid 80 quid face value to see Wales Australlia, and 30 quid to watch Japan, and was no where near in a decent seat, until i moved to a spare seat.Originally posted by FatTony View Post

the disgrace is the people that set the ticket prices, not the fans.

It takes only two hours to get from North to South Wales you say!?
I live in mid west Wales and it normally takes us a good two and a half hours to get to Cardiff on any matchday. It would take a lot more for people who live much further up the road that me!
You claim that 'Wales isn't the rubgy loving nation it proclaims to be', but it might well be the only British nation to qualify for the QF as it stands!!! :bird:

OK, maybe it takes a little longer if you drive like an old man.
But still, thats not the point. Why can't the people of South Wales fill the stadium for a world cup game? If the prices were high for the Aussie game, why were 42,000 reasonable tickets left unsold which could've been snapped up for those that couldn't afford to go Saturday?
Its all excuses.

My excuse for not going was that it was a Thursday night and couldn't be bothered to go when I wouldn't expect to be home before 12-12.30am with work the following morning, plus the fact that it was live on the telly so I could watch it on my comfy sofa sipping a glass or two of wine.
I can't tell you why every other Welshman/woman was not there just guess at some reasons why it was almost half-empty!
If you care so much about the Welsh game and it's fans why didn't you go along then?! If you did, well done you, but if not why?
