can't agree with it myself, but teams with amazing packs tend to use them, which often means they don't play as exciting as a team with a ****e pack and an amazing set of backs

I do not expect a Welshman to support England, not now, not ever. I moved to Wales when I was 13, and worked in bars from the age of 18. In England, in the Forest of Dean, rugby was not a huge deal. Plenty of people played the game, but the home nations never drew a big pub crowd. There was support for England obviously, but there wasn't an anti welsh support to any extent. I moved to Wales and started working in bars at 18 until I was 21, and I've obviously drunk in my fair few Welsh bars. At first the Welsh/English thing did my head in, I'd never experienced it before, and I could not understand why whole pubs were cheering on the likes of France against England. Now I've accepted, its LFC v Manutd.

Taffy, you will be a happy f*cker next Saturday...
        Cheers for your reply Tony!

I honestly think that England can push the Aussies close, but only if the Aussies aren't on top form - if they are firing on all cylinders then I expect them to be far to good for your lot.

Their backs looked awesome against us and Mortlock and Giteau are their two key backs - stop them playing and don't give them room and you've a chance. But I think they've too many other options that will be too strong for England. Having Robinson back will be a boost for you though, and if you can go back to the way you played in the last WC (by having the forwards doing all the donkey work and giving Johnny Wilkinson the amunition to pick up the three points then it might work) you will have a chance.

I won't be laughing out loud though as I expect the Aussies to win. Would love to see the Scots win though, but I feel the Argies will steamroll over them and their only hope is Patterson's kicking!

All the best though, you'll need it!

Hmm, you also predicted Wales would make the quarters, so I'll probably go with that tip

Same here, England are doing the classical thing that great tournament teams do. Scrap through the early stages, just do enough, improve with each game and blossom in the latter stages. It's weird but it always seems to happen in team sports, there's a lot to be said for momentum.
Teams who peak in the early stages (Argies at football World cup) tend to fall on their arses when the chips are down.
It'll be interesting, we could get gubbed but equally we could scrap a win.
