Good start to the tourney. I sort of expected a surprise as the Argies have beaten France 4 out of the last 5 meetings.
The defence really held up in the last 15 minutes and the French ran out of ideas. JOY.

Does anyone think that the RWC is bollox when there are scores like NZ & Aus had in their 1st games ?? I know there are not many nations who actually play to any level of consistency but why stretch it to 20 nations .. the group stages are a bit of a joke just like the Cricket WC this yr!

agree with ya, it is a bit of a farce, apart from the France vs Argentina I have only watched Englands match vs USA.
the rest i did not bother with cos I knew it was gonna be a whitewash. Will do the same for the rest of the group stages.

you've basically got about 10 teams capable of filling 8 quarter final places

the other teams are there to make up the numbers/ drag out the tournament.

in some cases, they simply make up the numbers, in other cases Ie Canada , Namibia / America / Tonga , they can make for exciting games / warm ups for the quarters.

don't agree fella, ignore the fact they played new zealand, the italians have got a good chance of making the 1/4.
