Harris can hit too!! Could be a decent fight, if Witter doesnt pussy out and run for the whole 12 rounds.

Fair play to Witter. I don't like hm but credit where it's due. Perhaps it took a fighter like Harris to bring a performance like that out of him.

It was actually the most entertained I've been when watching "The Bitter" Witter fight.

Malianaggi would be a good fight for him and would bring him some good exposure over in the states. He'd have trouble selling tickets for somewhere like MSG though because he couldn't even sell out a gym hall in his hometown tonight!!

Without wanting to sound like a bitter **** here I thought Witter was merely "good" tonight, 2 cracking punches, especially the big left that ended the fight but how bad did harris look? ****, looked like he was on his last legs!
For me that didnt show me much we didnt already know about witter, yeah hes ok, yeah he can punch a bit and yeah he looks decent against shot fighters.
Get him a good opponent and see what happens, an opponent who looks interested.

Seen from the third round onwards of the fight.
For me, Witter showed that he has power tonight and can connect. He also has shown that he has an akward style.
Harris I thought was poor, and never really settled in his game plan.
Both fighters looked sloppy at times and I think a genuine world class opponent will beat him.
Although he did show he can sustain some class boxing for periods, he is still liable to sloppiness.
Hatton would walk through him. But at 33, can it happen quick enough?.

Forget the fight with Hatton. It's just not going to happen, simple as. While Hatton is headlining the MGM Grand, The Thomas And Mack and the Paris in Vegas Witter is defending his title, the WBC title at that, in a gym hall in Doncaster and even then he couldn't sell it out. If Witter can't sell 2,000 tickets for a WBC title defence how would he do in a bigger arena? It's laughable really!

Witter needs Hatton, Hatton don't need Witter.

                        Harris really disappointed me...............

Harris was poor, he just never worked Witter out. Witter was better than his usual dull, boring, self.

Witter just swings wild shots which do carry power but against a real world class fighter he wouldn't connect with half of them.

It was a carcker of a punch the put Harris out but when you watch the replay I would say that Harris left himself wide open for it.

Paulie will beat him if it happens, I'm still gobsmacked Witter didnt mention Hatton in his after match interview, must be the first time he's ever spoke without mentioning Ricky.

Hopefully the fight Witters team wants happens, I think he'd get done myself.

Come on lads you're being really harsh. Witter has the most prestigious belt in the weight division and has just kicked Harris' arse - big time. To disimss his victory just because Harris didn't look good does him a dis-service. The left hook that finished the fight would have floored any fighter in the division.

Like it or not - Witter is backing up his claims that he's the best in the division.

The most prestigious belt? Backing up his claims that he's the best in the division?

He won a vacant world title making him what's called a paper champion. The most prestigious belt is the one that the very best in the division has held, the fighter who has beaten all comers. That man, up until 2005, was Kostya Tsyu. When Hatton beat him Hatton became the best and is still the best in the division.

The Ring belt, which Hatton holds and Tszyu held before him, is the most prestigious belt and the person who holds that in any weight division is universally recognised as the best regardless of what polotics filled alphabet title a fighter holds.

I'm sorry, Les, but beating an average fighter in Demarcus Corley for a vacant belt and then defending it against a blown up Super-Featherweight in Artouro Moura doesn't even bring him close to being anywhere near the best in the division. Fair enough he beat Harris but I think if you're really honest with yourself even you'd have to admit that Harris was shot.

Witter never has nor ever will be the best in the division and he's done nothing to back up those claims in my eyes.

One good performance, one that's being described as a career best, against a shot fighter doesn't make you anywhere close to being the best no matter what that uncharismatic **** Witter would have you believe.
