......add all that to a full house for every game and you got a great atmosphere the One Day World Cup was one man and his dogOriginally posted by looprevil View PostPlayers seem to be having so much more fun. (on and off the pitch!!) Collingwood.. ahem.
The dancers and fireworks are a bit cheesy but the atmosphere is fantastic. And cricket commentary totally

I'm not covinced by international Twenty20 cricket.
Obviously the inaugural tournament has been a great success but I'm not convinced it will replace 50 over ODI's.
50 over ODI's are virtually always sell outs, the World cup was an exception as it was hopelessly organised
but with better organisation it would have been a success. Other ODI World cups have been roaring successes.
Undoubtedly there is a place for Twenty20 in the county game which was basically dying on it's arse. Twenty20 has increased the numbers through the gates in the county game.
However I feel Twenty20 cricket has little credibility at the international level, it is so random. When a team as poor as Zimbabwe can beat the number 1 team in the world in all forms of cricket, it shows how random it is. Had they played that game 3 times on the same day on the same wicket, Zim would have been gubbed the other 2 times.
Personally, I think Twenty20 will remain but it won't replace 50 over ODI's.Originally posted by Gordon Brown
