What is it with boxers thinking they can turn the clock back on father time?
Very few of them actually go on to re-acheive their dreams (Sugar Ray Leonard ).
I just wish they'd accept their time has gone and move on.

He has taken some punishment too as a boxer, he has had problems trying to get a license in the past. I can also see him taking alot more punishment here, if Martinez last fight is anything to go by, it should be a quick stoppage, but knowing McCullough, he will remain standing and trying to fight until he is put down.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'
"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

They are generally a bit stoopid though aren't they?
Some just don't know when to quit.

In his pomp Wayne McCullough was one of the best. Sadly his best days are long gone and he should stay retired. I hate seeing once reat fighters going on to long and getting hammered by guys that they would have beat a few years ago.
Gatti was a prime example. Superb fighter that went on far to long and was a shadow of himself at the end. There was absolutely no pleasure in watching him at the end just like there will be no pleasure in watching this fight.
Its hard to quit something you love could you imagine some said you cant watch a Liverpool match anymore...???
Totally different mate.
This chap is playing with his health here, I can see why he wants to ccompete, but there is a stage where it gets stupid.

Totally agree. It's just like Marky trying to pull a bird. It's never gonna happen !

Agreed. It's probably a bit like an addiction though isnt it?
I would think that there is a bit of pride at stake. Money could also be a factor.
It does seem that some top pro's even after they are retired still think they are invincible.
I wouldn't say an addiction as such.
