I'd like to know what is going on behind the scenes, it seems Dana White is leaving something out, Randy seems a very genuine and level headed guy, I doubt he would get upset if something untoward hasn't gone on.Originally posted by kurtangle01 View PostSeems he's had his head turned by some new agent.

One thing Dana won't do, is cross his bosses.
Randy is now unmotivated, and to be honest, at his age and after his career I can understand that if Fedor can't sort out his advisor's to make the fight happen. He has to get onto the acting scene quickly anyway, as I take it he will be playing Rock type roles in films, and he is in his mid 40's.
Will be sorry to see him leave though.Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'
"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

Alot of the MMA sites are reporting that one of the reasons Coture quit was because Fedor did not sign for UFC.
They seem to be of the opinion that Coture's done it and seen it all in UFC and that he was only really interested in a fight with Fedor. When that did not materialise he decided to pursue other interests.
Money is another reason given for his departure. Apparently him and several other established UFC starts were not happy with the money that Cro-Cop got when he joined UFC.

CroCop was getting stupid money, I am sure the UFC will have learned from that experience, not that they are broke.Originally posted by spud_gun View PostAlot of the MMA sites are reporting that one of the reasons Coture quit was because Fedor did not sign for UFC.

Woner what will become of CroCop now?Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:

He will be missed, that's for sure. Always thought whenever he lost the belt that would be the end of him in the UFC so probably best he walked out at the top - gentleman and top guy
Surprised at Dana's comments about him being on the second highest contract at the UFC though, was under the impression that CroCop was on silly moneyAt a football club there's a holy trinity- the players the manager and the supporters, Directors dont come into it, they are only there to sign the cheques " - Bill Shankly

Cro-Cop is by all accounts on silly silly money. Coture and other main eventers who helped the UFC achive it's current purple patch felt that there should be some parity with what they are being paid and what Cro-Cop is being and what Fedor was offered.Originally posted by homer1 View PostHe will be missed, that's for sure. I agree mate, my point was that Dana White is quoted in the article as categorically denying it and saying that Liddell is the highest paid and Randy no. 2 - that's what surprised me (if he's being honest that is)Originally posted by spud_gun View PostCro-Cop is by all accounts on silly silly money. I'd say Coutoure and Liddell now have the best contracts, with CroCop's contract not being now, what is once was due to his losses.Originally posted by homer1 View PostI agree mate, my point was that Dana White is quoted in the article as categorically denying it and saying that Liddell is the highest paid and Randy no. 2 - that's what surprised me (if he's being honest that is)Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:

Yeah, fair point - could be Dana playing with words alrightOriginally posted by bazza76 View PostI'd say Coutoure and Liddell now have the best contracts, with CroCop's contract not being now, what is once was due to his losses.
Still, with a number of the big guns (CroCop & Shogun Rua) coming in from Pride and flopping, wouldn't like to see the original big names going out / being swallowed up - Coutoure leaving, Babalu being fired, Liddell looking as though his heart isn't in it anymore ......... suppose it's up to them to raise their game tooAt a football club there's a holy trinity- the players the manager and the supporters, Directors dont come into it, they are only there to sign the cheques " - Bill Shankly

A bit disrespectful to both Shogun and Forest to say he has flopped, fight of the night that was Foresst Griffin is a World Class super star and now an incredibly dangerous fighter. I hope MMA is not going to go down the ****ty undefeated Boxing route .. If a fighter has no loss's on his record he is not fighting the right people.
Some of my most favorite fighters have a negative win rate, take Nick Diaz for example.. A banger big time, loves a scrap and techincally can mix it up with anyone but in his last 5 figths has lost 3 times ... does that bother me, not a bit am I excited when I see his name on the fight card .. You bet
The sport moves on, new stars will rise ... I personally have not seen Babalu do anything of note for a long time. Chuck has been beaten by two extremely tough fighters ... Rampage Technically holds Both the Pride and UFC titles and Pride at two weight class's, Jardine is a ****ing Monster .. his kicks are like been hit will a metal baseball bat a rising star if you ask me.
But all of this is why I love MMA, you are only as good as your last fight and anyone can know you the **** out if you are not carefull ... I dont care about stars I just want to see a good fightAnybody who criticizes Klopp ever is a James Blunt. Nov 2015

I think Babalu should get a second chance, I regularly see fighters choking out opponents a bit longer than they should, I hefty fine should suffice.Originally posted by homer1 View PostYeah, fair point - could be Dana playing with words alright

Shoguns conditioning for the fight with Griffin was nothing short of laughable, and he will continue getting beaten up in the UFC against his main rivals if he insists of going into the octagon with that sort of cardio, I thought he was a major letdown, and got very predictable with his diving all over Griffins feet tactic.Originally posted by Nicey View PostA bit disrespectful to both Shogun and Forest to say he has flopped, fight of the night that was Foresst Griffin is a World Class super star and now an incredibly dangerous fighter. Nick Diaz is a a great fighter who feels he has been unfairly treated by the UFC. He especially has a problem with reality TV starts jumping the queue ahead of him and getting title shots, which to be honest, I cant say I blame him, he got where he is on his own. There are some great fighters in his division though. Caro Parisian being another I admire who actually beat Diaz.
Pity we wont see Diaz in the UFC for a while though.
It is the sport of under dogs though, seen so many the past year or so in MMA, which as you say, makes it so exciting.
Can't wait for what will possibly be the fight of the year at the weekend.
Two of my very favourite fighters, I seem to have lots of favourite fighters
, but these boys are class. Anderson Silva V Rich Franklin, both will have perpared to their very best for the fight, and hopefully it will be a better contest than the last time they met when Silva was an animal and savagely took who was then a monster in the UFC down. Will be interesting to see the approach of both men in the octagon.
