    Franklin V Silva

    Anyone watching this fight tonight? coverage is on Bravo now, fight will start around 11:10 or so. Should be a great fight, both fighters are top of the food chain MMA specialists, should be a great fight, especially if it going the full 25 minutes, although I can't see that happening.
    Should be some interesting fights in the build up.

    She loves boxing - but not UFC.

        No way Les, you are missing out mate, last two fights on tonight, I have come to love UFC, almost even more so than Boxing
        My GF watches the UFC and I know some other women that watch it. Give it a go, she may be pleasantly surprised. Last two fights on now. with the main even coming after this fight on now. the two guys in the main event are beasts.

                Really? This guy is a monster. Linked endless times to join wrestling again. Interesting fact here, he left the WWE to become a NFL player and didn't make it. Fat knob. He went to Japan, made a few wack and has come back.

                    I know I didn't say it, but after watching some of Silva's videos in the last week of him training in the build up, I was worried for Franklin.
                    Where does it take Franklin, I don't know, One thing I do know is though, there is some potential fights out there in this division for both of them, particularly in the shape of Dan Henderson, It is a good thing Pride has mixed with the UFC or else there would be no genuine challengers. Jeremy Horn may be another. Other than that, I am left scratching my head.

                      Did I mention that Anderson Silva is an absolute beast
                      One thing though, I think Franklin showed silva too much respect, I was hoping that Franklin would have embraced Silva in a slug fest when Silva came forward, Silva may well have picked him off, such is his accuracy, but, it is better than getting beat up on the fence and you will always have a punchers chance at worst. I noticed Franklin turning away from Silva as Silva approached, I am not sure if it was because he was hurt previously and was hiding it well, or he was just weary of silvas striking ability.
                      Franklin also under estimated his own striking IMHO and should have embraced Silva and atleast tried to impose his will on Silva in a slug fest before he bowed out. Dissapointed by Franklin slighty, but impressed by Silva again, such a dangerous stand up game.

                        Silva is a beast. He never let Franklin into that fight. His knees are absolutely lethal. You can see why Franklin was relcutant to get into standup with Silva as every time he got close enough he would unleash a couple of lethal knees to the body.

                            So destructive isn't he, I would go as far to say, he is the most lethal striker I have ever seen. He spars with boxers that are bigger and stronger than him. His Muai Thai is world class, He IS the most dangerous fighter I have seen off his back to date in MMA even against well versed jiu-jitsu specialists. Incredibly focused and confident. Makes a lethal combination.

                              This chap, although he has not been a champions in the UFC as long as them guys, is more frightening that any of them, nobody will look forward to fighting Silva, they know he just wants to beat you up. If you have an iron jaw, he will still knock you out, he is stronger than he looks too.
                              Forgot to add, he has also boxed professionally.
