Miami Dolphins v NY Giants at Wembley

Never mind the game, check this out

    http://uk.news.yahoo.com/skynews/200...o-45dbed5.html

Miami Dolphins linebacker Channing Crowder has admitted not knowing people speak English in London

The NFL player might want to check a map before he gets on board a plane for Sunday's prestige game against the New York Giants at Wembley Stadium.

Crowder, who comes from Atlanta in Georgia, may be praised on the field, but confessed geography was not his strong point.

He admitted he did not know until now where London was - or that Londoners spoke English.

"I couldn't find London on a map if they didn't have the names of the countries," he said.

"I swear to God. I don't know what nothing is. I know Italy looks like a boot. I learned that."

Crowder added: "I know (Washington Redskins linebacker) London Fletcher. We did a football camp together. So I know him.

"That's the closest thing I know to London. He's black, so I'm sure he's not from London. I'm sure that's a coincidental name."

The Miami Dolphins are play the New York Giants at Wembley this Sunday in the first NFL regular-season game to be played outside the United States.

    Just read that,

love this part, shows the stupidity of the man:

"That's the closest thing I know to London. He's black, so I'm sure he's not from London. I'm sure that's a coincidental name."

    We come not to play.

When reminded Dolphins practice squad receiver and NFL Europe veteran Marvin Allen is from London, Crowder didn't miss a beat.

"He's from London?' Crowder said. "I knew he was from over there because he talks funny. I was surprised when we met because I don't want to say he didn't look the part because that's a stereotype but he didn't look the part. I heard him talk, and I thought he had a recorder and was just mouthing."

Wonder what he would be doing if he wasn't 6' 2" , 245lbs and could rip your head off in a tackle

I think it's a foul, and if the ref gives it. He got to give a penalty. I know it's outside the box, but you see them given that close to the area. So if the ref gives it he's got to give the penalty as it so close to the area. But I think it's a penalty. Robbie Savage 8/11/06

we gave him a massive hammering and I was surprised to hear the whole ground join in too, it was quality

As for Crowder, he was apparently doing the classic American trick of trying to be funny, and failing miserably.
"the correct decision would have been a penalty for us a red card for Gattuso and a yellow for Stevie"

We heard the rumour that one of the cheerleaders needed to obtain a passport as she had never left the country before.

The replays reminded me of some of the footage they show of games in the seventies, with all the dirt on their clothes.

Apparently quite a few of the cheeries/players/staff had to do similar for the same reason! Just goes to show how insular a lot of America still is...
