I'd go with that paul, All that posing as if he was in a fencing match really was cringeworthy. Junior Witter is one of those guys that thinks he's the best but he's not. I suppose when he has his cornerman telling him what a great fight it was last night then his perception of reality is clouded somewhat.

He did makes fools out of more people than himself and Corley last night though, he made fools out of the fans that paid hard earned cash to go and watch what they thought would be two fighter laying it all on the line in the biggest match of their careers. Instead they got nothing more than 2 over rated fighters terrified to fight.

As I said last night it was a terrible, terrible, fight and was honestly not much better than Danny Williams V's Audley Harrison.

Witter should retire now because as world Champion he has a target on his back and much better fighters than Corley will be after him. Imagine a unification fight between Witter and Cotto? It would be over in 3 or 4 rounds.

Witter's style can ruin other fighters, as it did last night. You might hate it, and most people do, but it's working for him. And he has a heavy counter punch. He'll trouble better fighters than Corley.

harsh mate. I thought Corely was a world class fighter before the fight no?

The thing with Witter is that he makes you miss - and can then hurt you with HIS power. Corely was too scared to take a shot - in order to land his own and that played right into Witter's hands.
He mighn't have looked that good last night but he will look better against 'come forward' fighters such as Hatton. If Hatton takes him on then he'd better improve his defence (as he's easy to hit) and he'd better be able to take Witter's power. And you know what - I'm not sure he could.
As for Witter's part - he'd better be prepared to battle for 12 rounds - and I'm not sure he can do that either !

        Let's get it on.

I like a man with balls - and youve certainly got some, predicting witter to beat the hitman. I go for hitman to knock him out within 5 rounds
IF this fight happens that is

All decent points there Les. Yes Witter has power but he doesn't use in the correct way IMHO. There was a point in the fight last night when he rocked Corley but just didn't have the know how to put him away. As for him looking better against come forawrd fighters? Against poorer opponents then yes he would look better but against guys like Hatton there's no way he would look anything like good. You saw it last night when Corley tried to get on the inside and fight. Witter never had a clue how to deal with it and ended up holding his opponent and on one embarasing occasion wrestled Corley to the floor. If and it's a BIG IF Hatton and Witter ever fight it'll be over in 6-7 rounds. Did you see Witter huffing and puffing in the corner last night? And that was against a guy who put no pressure on him! My opinion is that Witter will loose his title after no more than 2 defences and won't even get to fight Hatton.

Witter is a clown whether that's harsh or not I don't care. I feel truely embarassed for him that he thinks fights like that last night are acceptable to serve up to the boxing fans.

I can honestly say that unless he lands a fight with someone worth watching like Castillo, Cotto, Corrales, Hatton etc... then I will never make the mistake of watching him box ever again.

'Kinhell take a chill pill Kurt !
You'd think Witter had just shagged yer bird the way you're carrying on !

Listen - styles make fights. And Witter's style - doesn't look good on the eye - I grant you that. But he did a total job on DeM C last night, he bemused the hell outta him. The art of boxing is to fight and not get hit - which is exactly what Ingle teaches his lads (Bomber Graham, Nelson and now Witter) and it's highly effective. Witter does have his faults - again I grant you that - but are his faults as glaring as Hatton leading with his face as he does?
IMO Witter could go on from here and improve further. The extra confidence of being WBC champ may do for him what being champion has done for Clinton Woods.

As for his fight with Hatton: I didn't say he'd beat him (Paulcooper), I said I'm not sure Hatton could take his power; and I stand by that. Hatton gets hit too easily for my liking but so far he's been bashed up but stayed on his feet. But I also made the point that Witter was puffing for tugs and I'm not sure he could box at Hatton's pace for 12 rounds.

Suppose I'm a bit more forgiving than you Kurt that's all. Let's see if Witter can now move up a level as I've just mentioned.

I see some big faults with Hatton style in recent fights as well to be honest. Since the Tszyu fight he's not boxed as well as he can. I remember the Michael Stewart and Ray Oliveria fights in 2004. Hatton boxed their heads off and looked in superb condition and if I'm going to be brutally honest I think Hatton walks about far to heavy and one day he'll struggle to loose the 28LBS that it takes him to get down to 140LBS. His last fight with Collazo was a real eye opener to him I think and he'll probably be a lot more cautios in future fights.

The fact is though Ricky Hatton is nearly always involved in exciting fights and realises that what he does is not only for himself but also for his fans who value boxing as entertainment. What sort of entertainment does Junior Witter provide? Yet the guy thinks he's one of the hardest hitting, slickest and entertainig fighters in the world and clearly he's not!

I hope one of the big guns knocks him back down to size. Would love if it was hatton.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

Witter needs Hatton but Hatton doesn't need Witter.
