I think Hopkins would beat Joe. It would be close but he's a clever bastartd that hopkins and is one of the very best of our generation.

Sorry Kurt but theres only a punchers chance of that happening and even that is a very small chance given Hopkins lack of attack mindedness and Calzaghes chin.

To be fair the styles are so oposing I think it would be another Lacey...Calzaghe would be so dominant it would almost be a mismatch.

I hope it happens, I really do.

i think calzhage would and will beat hopkins, not so sure he could have 3 years ago though. its a shame to see a great champion like hopkins at 42 years of age stoop so ****ing low to drum up interest in a fight that should of happened 3 - 5 years ago. Joe deserves a big fight in the states as he has paid his dues and it will rid him of his hometown fighter tag. new york would be a great venue

I heard about this confrontation last night, and I continue to believe Hopkins is only all mouth!

Joe would beat him up if they ever got together as Joe is twice as fast as Hopkins and the Yank just wouldn't be able to cope with Joe's jab and fast hands.

However, I still believe Hopkins will continue to price himself out of a fight - yeah he's mouthing off but he's affraid of Joe and is just doing it for the press, the 'big man' he is. He'll say that he wants it but he'll just ask for some stupid price for it to happen knowing that they just won't offer that!

I'd be amazed, and thrilled, if they finally did fight, but I just can't see them agreeing a deal as before.

Calzaghe is in a strange situtation that he is the best out there but just cannot get the big fights or even that one defining fight against the likes of a Hopkins to cement him as a true legend. Hopkins knows he would be embarrased and as a result is staying well clear of him.

There are rumours of Clinton Woods targeting a showdown with Calzaghe but that would be a big step down for Joe IMO.

Apparently they've agreed a 50/50. Calzaghe said he'd let Hopkins have 51% just so it makes him feel better!

Still think Bernard might **** out but hope it's on.

There's still time for Warren to try and insert all these clauses in the fight contract to protect his meal ticket.
Hope it comes off and although I'm not a big Calzaghe fan - I think he'll simply out work Hopkins and ultimately retire him.

Watching all the commotion last week in vegas with Hatton etc, I had a warm glow inside know none of the money was going to Warren.

I saw a flashing tickertape comment on one of the many sports website I visit yesterday (can't remember which one now) saying that Jermaine Taylor wants to fight Calzaghe now!

Calzaghe is so good he could beat them both at the same time.

This Calzaghe v Clinton Woods fight is getting nearer I see.

From Vegas/NY to Sheffield in one fell swoop.
