    Rooting for fellow Brits

So it seems all the Irishmen, Scots and Welsh on here are right behind Englishman Ricky Hatton in his bid to become undisputed champion tomorrow night.

Bazza has gone to Vegas to cheer him on, Kaip, Scott, Spud Gun and all the other Celts are desperate for him to win - as I and all English boxing fans are.

The reverse is the same with Calzaghe - us English always want him to win too.

Why is this? We all laugh at one and other's expense when it comes to our rubbish national football teams, so why is all this cast aside when it comes to boxing and other non-team sports such as golf?

I think Barry McGuigan cemented a lot of public support during his career. Has a lot to do with the underdog aspect when the foreign media cover things too.

        It's a good question.

I think it's the personality of the sportsman, the way the play their respective sports and the fact that we're really all just one big country.

For me this weekend I want to see Hatton win because I'm a Boxing fan and he's a boxer who I have great admiration for. I love his all action style and I like his use of irony in big fight build ups. The same goes for Calzaghe. I've got nothing but respect for them. It takes alot of dedication to do what they do.

We should be proud of people who put our country on the map at the end of the day.

            P.S.

Ordinarilly, and I genuinely mean this, I'll support England, Wales or any of the two Irish teams when they play against other countries.

I just found it hysterical that England went out because it showed the F.A. up for the gutless ****ebags that they are.

Bruno was an absolute joke. No chin. I didn't like Naz either and was delighted when Barrera handed his arse to him a few years ago.

I'm hoping the same doesn't happen this Saturday.

I don't like Amir Khan either but that might be because of Frank Warren.

How can anyone have hated Bruno??? Have a fukkin heart!!

                      Naz = Marmite

Calzaghe and Hatton - Great Champs who are quite humble and have my utmost respect and support.

The only Brit I could never stand was Eubank.

I met Eubank at Langhams(sp?) in London and he was a complete gentleman and thanked me for my support. None of this 'I'm busy' bollocks.

I quited like Naz too (as a boxer) as he was a cocky ******* but in real life he is a cock. I saw him in Tottenham Court Road with his green Aston Martin and he didn't bother talking to anyone or even acknowledging people.
