Thanjk you.

Why take a world class outfielder out of the field and stick him behind the stumps?
errr yes, because he would be an awesome keeper plus he is solid with the bat. Which would strengthen our side immesurably. He would be a genuine batter / keeper all rounder.

you miss the point
Should Jonty Rhodes have been a wicket keeper?
There are plenty of decent wicketkeepers out there who can keep wicket. Not many can bat all day.
The fielding of England would be reduced if they lost Collingwood in the field.
A wicketkeepers job is not that hard. The ball pretty much comes to them. Collingwood can produce world class catches out in the open field.

Yes, but our wicket keeping problem is costing is more than not having colly in the field would cost us. The likes of Bopara are fantastic fielders, I really believe the positives outweigh the negatives.

its like playing Gerrard on the left or at right back. You know he'd do so much better than what we have but you'd lose so much elsewhere.
Same with Colly
Keep a world class fielder in the field and just find a better wicketkeeper..which I am 100% sure there are out there in the county scene [cough] Mustard, Read [/cough]

It's just not a very good England side at the moment. Theres not much batting after Collingwood and Flintoff is obviously missed.
Obviously Andrew Strauss had a tough year before being dropped but he got a hell of a number of bad decisions during that time as well. I'd bring him back in and drop Bopara.
I like the look of him long term but playing in such an underperforming side might do him more damage than good.
I'd give the gloves to Mustard. Warnie sees similarities to Gilchrist and thats good enough for me! You could also have Vaughan back at 3 and move Bell to 6 where he's done well before.

Fair point but I dont trust Anderson and Broad/Plunkett can be a bit erratic. Lets face it, if we had a decent and settled attack theres no way Sidebottom would have forced his way in in the first place.
