I like Chuck, just don't think he will ever take Jackson unless he makes a lucky connection.
I know what yo are saying mate about the one sided fights.
In the last fight, Chuck got cought, it happens to the ebst of them.
But, I do still think, chuck is one of the best strikers in MMA, expecially with his hands, if he cought Jackson, it would be because of sustained striking, not a lucky punch IMO.
anyway we could be saying this to each other until it happens, lets just hope the UFC can put together some more classics for us to drool over and happy new year.

'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

I'm sure Chuck and Jackson will meet again, very soon too.

Happy New Year to you too.

I think after 2 big losses it would take most people some time to fight their way back up the ladder for a title shot, however the status that Chuck enjoys within the UFC and his close relationship with Dana should see him get a final shot at Rampage sooner than later. The fact that he is not getting any younger and may not have many years left in him (especially if not motivated) will surely be considered by the powers that be too

I do agree that it could well be mental with Rampage though and if doesn't go in the ring confident he can beat him then Chuck could get beaten up badly

On a side note, couple of big fights announced recently - @ UFC81, in addition to Brock Lesnar making his debut against Frank Mir, Minotauro Nogueira will hopefully knock the bollox out of Tim Silva for Randy's now vacant title and @ UFC82 Anderson Silva will take on Dan Henderson in what should be an absolute cracker of a fight
At a football club there's a holy trinity- the players the manager and the supporters, Directors dont come into it, they are only there to sign the cheques " - Bill Shankly

Mir was awesome back in his prime but since his motorbike accident he's looked poor. If you've never seen him fight have a look around on the net, his submissions were some of the very best, very quick and brutal. He took no prisoners. A real shame.

I hope he kicks Lesnar's ass.

wohoo the dream match up is happening.
I said this when Henderson fought Rampage last time, he should drop down a weight and fight Silva, that fight will be awesome. Can Henderson get in close enough to Silva without being made a mess of of getting cought up in Silva's clinch?. I think there is no better man to test him anyway.

Brock Lesnar will be interesting, I noticed that on the UFC website last week, he is a hulk of a man, have never seen him fight though, just looks like a pumped up wrestler, and as Fat Tony says, I hope Mir kicks his ass.

Nogueira will probably be beaten up by Tim Silvia, if Nogueira wants points, he should look no further than Randy's dismantling of Silvia.

Also, we have The Prodigy BJ Penn facing Joe Stevenson, should be an interesting fight, I hope Penn schools him, but you never know in MMA.

I have seen clips and he does certainly seem a shadow (although not physically ) of his former self

Interesting to see how Bresnar fares - I really don't think he'll cut it despite his size for some reason

Lesner is a former NCAA wrestling champ from before his WWE days and good wrestlers tend to make good fighters, Randy, Matt Hughes, Frank Trigg, Josh Koscheck, Sean Sherk...the list goes on and on, but the one thing that they all have in common is that none of them come close to having the pure amatuer wrestling pedigree of Lesner.

One thing is guaranteed, Lesner will get the takedown, the rest is always going to be tough to call based on his debut in MMA which only lasted 90 seconds but I'm gonna stick my neck out and go against the grain. Lesner GnP's his way to victory deep in the 2nd round as Mir's questionable cardio comes back to haunt him.

Lesner has the size and raw ability to be a real force in MMA, i just wonder how well that massive jaw would hold up against a world class striker.

Here's his only fight to date for anyone thats interested!

Looking at that, it looks a distinct possibility, possibly even in the first.
Mir will have to be world class striker you mentioned to get a victory over Lesnar. Would think Lesnar be a hard man to submit. imagine trying to choke him out.

Not doubting his pedegree mate, knew of his background but there's something about him that I just don't fancy. I didn't like his interview with Rogan before one of the recent UFC main events when it had just been confirmed that he had signed up, too happy smiley for my liking and for his huge frame and awesome physique, he doesn't act like the moster he should

Not explaining myself properly but keep thinking of him as a WWF faker and suppose I'm finding it hard to see past this. Think he'll have enough to get past Mir but when he comes up against a more mobile opponent I think he will struggle - time will tell though

A little off topic, but has anyone seen Shonie Carters spinning backfist (x2) against Matt Sera a few years back in a fight The one that finishes the fight right at the end is just amazing watched it over and over last night I downloaded it via UFC on demand for $2 great quality by the way, but I cant copy it because it is protected
