I think you will find it is Thaxton who has been mouthing off on this one.

Fair enough, but I only took interest in this after I heard Thazton running his mouth off about Khan, and since then all I have heard is Thaxton. He even wrote him an open letter.

Thaxton is apparently set to fight John Murray. That would be a good dust up.

            Perhaps Thaxton is a possibility?

Has Warren been stung by the recent criticism relating to the apparent ducking of Thaxton and the taking of the Kristjansen fight?

Team Palle, Danish promoters of Martin Kristjansen, have reported that their man will not fight Amir Khan as scheduled on 2nd February.

One's Danish is not as good as it used to be (the report is on the Palle website http://www.teampalle.dk/composite-1551.htm) but it would appear that Kristjansen is citing flu which has resulted in several trips to the bathroom leaving him completely drained of energy and unable to train adequately.

Update - In an email to Bettina Palle, Kristjansen writes:

"I have been running between the toilet and my bed all night. I constantly feel nauseous, my stomach is upset, and I throw up. I can't keep any food inside me, and it's probably a bad case of the flu.

"Ït's impossible for me to train, and I have no energy. I just don't feel I can afford to miss out on days of training as time is already short. I really feel bad to lose this opportunity, and I hope the fight can be postponed so I can get it later. Because I really do want this fight."

Jon Thaxton is likely to be ready and willing to replace the Dane. However, it would be a major shock if this fight went ahead.

Promoters Sports Network pulled Khan from purse bids this week for Thaxton's British and Khan's Commonwealth titles.
And they say that they're not avoiding Thaxton.

Seems you were right. The cynic in me says that Amir will now fight another sub-par fighter with about 10 losses in his last 12 fights.

Jon Thaxton's camp have made a new offer to Amir Khan as they seek to seal a deal for the pair to meet.

Only last week Khan withdrew from the bidding process for his proposed British title challenge to Thaxton, for which purse offers were due to be opened on Wednesday.

Instead Khan will meet Denmark's Martin Kristjansen in London next month, a showdown that promoter Frank Warren hopes will be ratified as an eliminator for a WBO title shot.

However Thaxton, who is pursuing Khan to present him with the four white feathers he promised the Bolton fighter should their domestic clash fail to materialise, has not given up hope.

His promoter Mick Hennessy said: "Thursday afternoon, this week we sent a fax to Sports Network along with a copy to Asif Vali offering Amir £400,000 to fight Jon. I want to give Amir one final opportunity to do what we believe to be the right thing,

"Jon's even prepared to fight him on his own turf, at the Bolton Arena on April 5th. British boxing fans want to see this fight so let's give it to them, all you need to do Amir is accept our generous offer and step up to the plate."

Warren won't accept that as he wants to be seen as the one negotiating the deal; sort of looking after his fighters.

                God I hate Frank Warren.

Khans now fighting Gairy St Clair instead of that Danish fella, he looks like he's got a good chin (never been stopped) and has been the distance with Vivian Harris and Corrales before though that was in 1998 and 1999. He's tiny compared to Khan though (same with Corrales and Harris aswell to be fair and they couldnt stop him), he's 5'4.

                  Clever match making.

Well, the way I see it Khan cannot win here unless he fights Thaxton.

Warren has to give him an opponent he thinks he can beat, but one who has to test him also. I just get the feeling he can not satisfy the boxing public unless he puts Khan in with Thaxton.

I just want him in with someone who can bang a bit, they constantly mouth off, the latest is Warren saying he wants Khan to fight Katsidis this year but there is zero chance of him being put in there without coming up against some more punchers first and this guy certainly isnt one.

Never being stopped in 46 fights is impressive but this guy is a super feather and 5'4 (Khan is a big lightweight), has lost 2 of his last 3 fights and isn't a big puncher. It's low risk while being able to give it the "Chico and Harris didnt stop him, he's great" ****e. I want to see his chin tested.

By the way, I know thats boxing and the way top fighters records are, with fights like this on the way up but with doubts over his chin and all the mouthing off I want to see a banger in with him.

If Willie Limond put him down - then there's no reason why a banger can't do the same. However, they've got to catch him first and I've been really impressed with Khan's hand speed. It's frighteningly quick.
