What's the hardest single player sport?

THere are plenty of sports for single players but which of them is the most difficult to make it to the top?

IMO the the most difficult must come from Boxing, Golf, or F1 racing. However there are plenty of others like tennis, athletics, horse racing(?) or even darts?

IMO - I'd go for boxing. As if the drachonian training regimes are not enough, there's diet; dedication and sheer will power. All of this will some bloke is doing his level best to knock seven kinds of ****e out of you.

Boxers - you have my respect.

I think F1 probably has to be way up there

Surely snooker is worth a mention?! For me that requires an incredible level of skill.

Of course it depends what you mean by 'hardest'.

'Most difficult' would probably be more apt Shags.

I thought of snooker as it's just so fookin' hard !!

That would be Ron Jeremies. In that case my thread is obsolete!

Good call mate. God that is really tough - but not many people do it. Unlike Golf (for example) where there are millions of golfers around the world.

boxing obviously is up there, as the hardest, also some other Martial Arts.
Cycling is one I think is worth a mention if you can stay off the drugs, must be one hell of an effort to win the likes of the Tour De France (drug free).
                              Any endurance sports.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.
