Why do you have MORE respect for her now than ever?

She could have brass-necked it out and lied her way out of it like so many have done before her, but never.

I expect because of the dignified way she has admitted publicly to her wrongdoing, the way she has made no attempt to hide or to shirk responsibility, the lack of any whinging even when she was given the highest sentence of those suggested. The lady has shown class and while there is no condoning her errors, she can be admired for the way she has taken responsibility.

I can't help thinking that she knew there was a good chance they could prove she had lied on oath which, as has been pointed out, the law takes very seriously indeed. By admitting it and taking a plea bargain she minimised her sentence.

I feel sorry for her as I would anyone going to prison because I know I wouldn't like it.
