The UFC's first real step towards PPV in the UK.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

    * After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

Nah. It was with Sky. Many, many years ago. An event held in the Albert Hall if memory serves.

Cost about £9.95 on Sky PPV. Pretty decent from what i can remember,

I think it's Sky's one and only UFC PPV.

That was a little bit before I started watching the UFC regularly. Surprised Sky never kepth their faith in the UFC. It certainly has taken off now.

Setanta showed one of the UFC events a while back, from memory the one that was live from London (Bispin v Hamill?) and this was available to any standard Setanta subscribers

Is Saturday's event free to subscribers or do you have to buy it in?

There was UFC on last year in the MEN if I remember correctly. I went to the cash machine the next morning and it was covered in blood. There were fights everywhere that night, all the meatheads came into town for a dust up.

Setanta showed the Cro-Cop Vs Gonzaga pay per view as well. They have rights to all the U.K based UFC's Live, Bravo have the rights to show delayed coverage of all U.S PPV's.

On the Subject of "Brawl at the Albert Hall" as they called it. What a great card that was! Genki Sudo's submission master class stands out from that night. Mark Weir broke the record for the UFC's fastest ever knockout as well! The Matt Hughes Vs Carlos Newton rematch was the main event. Well worth checking out if you haven't seen it.
