Shaq to PHX Marion to MIA

Shaq goes to the Phoenix Suns in return for Shawn Marion and Marcus Banks off to the Miami Heat. Very odd trade by the suns as marion fits into the system as a forward and now who knows how shaq will fit in and whether stoudemire will move to a forward role (he is only 6'10) and shaq to C or not.

any on here follow the NBA?

Why would anyone take him now beats me. He has been crap since he left the Lakers.

For a big guy, he can't take free throws. He is nothing more than a PR buy

Oh puleaseeeeeeeee if there was no Shaq then Miami would not have won the championship. True Wade played a major part in the championship but Shaq was integral.

Dallas choking gave them a pretty big shove in the championship direction.

one of the worst trades ive seen in recent times.

Marion IS a beast of a player...Shaq WAS a beast of a player.

If it wins Phoenix a championship then its worth it though.

The Gasol trade was equally as puzzling, and i think this is what made Phoenix get another big man to deal with Gasol and Bynum.

Dont be surprised to see Dallas make a move....most probably Kidd.

The western confernece is wide open at the moment. It should be a cracking season

apparently there was an issue between marion and his team-mates at phoenix, similar to iverson with the sixers

yeah, thats the rumour.....although Amare has said he never had a problem with Marion.

I think the problem stems from when the Suns tried to trade Marion last season....without him knowing. That seemed to piss him off, and he has been restless ever since

what a crap post, you clearly know absolutely nothing about shaq or basketball

he helped miami (traditionally an NBA whipping boy) win a championship

for a big guy he can't take free throws- well this may come as a shock to you but most big men are average to poor at free throws. besides, free throws are insignificant when you're unstoppable under the basket. check his field goal percentage throughout his career, that's a good indication of what kind of a player he is

PR buy? the suns have been poised to make a run at the title for a few seasons now but keep falling short. the western conference is full of dominant centers and power forwards. the suns often play with small lineups and the mismatches often cost them games against teams with inside power. a number of the suns player contracts are up in 2 years and the core of their team isn't getting any younger- clearly they've decided it's now or never

it's a gutsy trade, some think the gasol trade pressured the suns into making this move

Don't get me wrong, Suns are an average team but do you really expect them to win the Championship ahead of the Spurs?

do you watch basketball? They are the best team to watch in the league by a mile. So good infact that many teams are trying to copy their running style....to great effect in some cases (see Toronto)

Judging by his posts in this thread I think it's safe to assume that Ben knows **** all about basketball.
