Duddy blocks to many punches with his face and against a fighter as powerful and accurate as Pavlik it would only end one way.Originally posted by Ben Tover View PostHow good is Duddy because he maybe fighting Pavlik next
Duddy is an overhyped journey man at best and Pavlik would not only do a number on him he'd stop him early and send Duddy into obscurity where he belongs.
Did you see Duddy last night? Avergae fighter that was found out by a fat kid who had no place being in the ring at MSG. That was supposed to be a gimme but Duddy got found out, as is always the case with him.
He'll never be good enough to be a world champion.Babel fanclub member # 4!!!

He's beat no one but old timers and journeymen. He's not a good boxer he's an overhyped pub fighter.Babel fanclub member # 4!!!

Yep, said before that I'd be amazed if he got to the mid way point with Pavlik but now i'd be amazed if it went past 4. Pavlik would absolutely tear him apart.Originally posted by kurtangle01 View PostDuddy blocks to many punches with his face and against a fighter as powerful and accurate as Pavlik it would only end one way.

your talking bollocks mate, he fought very very well against Eastman and even the latter part of last nights fight he showed a little more nous. He needs to show more restrain and box more but he has heart and determination in abundance and by **** can the lad take a punch.Originally posted by kurtangle01 View PostWho's he beat that shows he deserves a shot at the Middleweight champion of the world?

I think Pavlik will win comfortably but he definitely deserves the chance.

Lets be honest, he's getting Pavlik because he brings a big fanbase to the table not because he's great or beat anyone good. Eastman was finished ages ago, he disgraced himself against Elcock.Last edited by Chris; 24-02-08, 05:26 PM.

I'm talking bollocks? Yeah, right. Is that the best you can come up with, seriously?
I asked you what top level fighter he'd beaten to deserve a shot at the linear world title. Care to tell me or are you just going the resort to the talking bollocks line again? Howard Eastman? He's so over the hill it's unbelievable and he's never been world class and his life.
He boxed well in the second half of the fight last night but that's the minimum you'd expect from someone who's challenging for the belts but that was the maximum from Duddy.
The guy he was in with last night was nothing more than a club fighter and Duddy made hard work of it. He's average at very best.
Here's the current top ten at Middleweight in the world.
And here's Duddys record.KELLY PAVLIK 33-0 (29) WBC, WBO, Ring Champion and number one rated in the world.

8th Contender, RAYMOND JOVAL 37-4 (16)
9th Conyender, JOHN DUDDY 23-0 (17)
10th Contender, DAVID LOPEZ 33-12 (21)
Duddy makes the top ten but can you show me one other fighter in the list that he beat to be deserving a top ten place or a shot at the Middleweight Champion of the world?2003

12-08 -- Howard Eastman, Belfast, Northern Ireland, W 10

02-23 -- Walid Smichet, New York, NY, W 10
The fact is that he hasn't because as his record shows he's fought only over the hill fighters and journeymen. He's never beaten anyone remotely world class in his life and is overhyped due to his fanbase.
Don't let your bias cloud your judgement, fella.

Exactly.
Duddy is at very best average. He's so overhyped it's unreal and, as you rightly say, is only getting a shot because the Irish Americans in NY like him. Not because he's a good boxer.
The guy last night showed him for what he is. Average.
He said he boxed badly because he never found his rythm. No, he boxed badly because he steamed in chin hanging out and kept getting caught against a guy who's not even remotely world class.
As I said, who's he beat to deserve his shot? The answer to that is no one.
Bob Arums comments said it all for me when asked if Duddy was ready for Pavlik. He said 'his team obviously think he is but they're not the ones who have to step into the ring with Pavlik.'
In other words his team are trying to get the payday while they can.Last edited by kurtangle01; 24-02-08, 07:06 PM.Babel fanclub member # 4!!!

I watched Duddy last night and I thought he was horrid. No defence whatsoever. Two cut eyes and a cut nose is hardly the sort of picture you would see from a touted future world champion.
Granted, Duddy brings entertainment but if he fights like he did last night against a better opponent, he will be knocked out. And I really do mean that. He got jab after jab after jab.

Chill dudes.....I said "your talking bollocks" to the "hes not a good fighter" line, I think he is and one bad performance doesnt show him in the best light.Originally posted by Darth Marty View PostI have to agree, but all the same hes good entertainment and a good kid, I think he deserves a shot at Pavlik.
