Never seen a spell of darts like that before and I've been watching since the days of Old Stoneface, Bristow et al. SENsational.

Those last four legs were as if a robot was chucking the arrers....just perfect darts.
I don't really know why but your last sentence made me laugh.

I only really watch it in a car-crash kind of way but it was "liquid darts".
    .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

I know exactly what you mean.

And it really was liquid darts.

Waddell was on fire last night.

It was that good it almost made darts interesting. Temporarily
I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
          Mine angry and defrauded young?

So then darts fans, is the real Phil Taylor back do we think? I reckon so, cos he's playing better darts now than i think he has done since the turn of the century.

What odds on him making it number 14 this year?

On another note, what's happening to Barney, he seems to be flagging a bit at the moment, still throwing well, but really inconsistent compared to how he was when he switched codes?

Yup, I reckon the Power is back. One thing which will undoubtedly make a big difference though, his invincible aura is gone, psychologically thats huge, still, makes the whole darts scene more competitive and that can only be a good thing.

Problem is though, if he keeps throwing as he is at the moment (and i think ever since he demolished Mardle 8-0 he's averaged over 100 in the Premier League alone) then it won't take long for him to rebuild that aura. I think he'll be going into every event from now til then as odds on favourite each time.

Edit: Just had a quick look on the web, and over the weekend Taylor won his 6th PDC tour event in a row at the weekend, so it does appear that he's on the way to rebuilding his aura of invincibility.

yeah, maybe he knows this as I remember the other night he said he would be playing more tournaments now. Good on him, I genuinely like the guy and hope he wins another world title.

Another nine-darter for Taylor at the Open today...that's four he's got in that tournament in his career.

Not a comment on yor post, more just the date of Feb 08......in just under 18 months he has totally reinvented his throw and is now, quite possibly, better than ever, which is a scary thought.

Players like Barney, King and Wade have forced him to another level...as wiki says

His match record this year, as of July 26th, is 115-4-4, with prize money of £454,000. He has won 27 of his last 32 tournaments.

Since March 2008 Phil has won 38 tournaments out of 48.

Other players just aim for the treble...he aims for a specific part of the treble
