No question of it any more, Silva is the best pound for pound in the UFC and most likely all of MMA. The chap is an animal.
Okami must be up next for Silva now, not that he will have much more luck than anyone else Silva has faced in the Octagon.
urely Silva has to move up to Light Heavyweight soon to stay motivated with some half decent challenges.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'
"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

Silva is an absolute beast.
I posted on another forum prior to the Henderson fight that if anyone were to beat Silva it would be a major upset. The Yanks jumps all over my head. Saying 'Hendo' is the man, he'll destroy Silva etc etc etc.
I don't see him moving up to 205lbs. He's a big fella but i don't think his style would be suited to carrying the extra weight. Unless he goes in at around 195lbs but he's giving away alot of weight. The likes of Liddell, Wanderli go into the octagon at around 220lbs.
I take your point thought. Silva has pretty much cleaned out middleweight. The danger now, if he does not move up, is he fights a series of nobodies and loses interest.

Silva will go up to light Heavy, I am fairly sure of that.
He will just have to beef out a bit more, but I think it is actually something he is considering anyway. Fairly sure I read it somewhere.
If Henderson can compete at Light Heavy and push Rampage so close, IMO Silva can step up too. Would love to see him fill out a bit and fight Chuck and what would surely be a stand up fight

Obviously a bit of needle before the fight - have never seen Silva refuse to touch gloves at the start of a fight ..... must have taken it as Henderson slighting Rich Franklin when he said Silva hadn't fought any real fighters
Agree though, he was awesome and is head and shoulders above anyone in that division
Poor event I have to say - didn't show Arlovski who may have fought his last fight for the UFC & disappointing showing from Evan Tanner whilst Herring v Kongo was even worse than I expected
At a football club there's a holy trinity- the players the manager and the supporters, Directors dont come into it, they are only there to sign the cheques " - Bill Shankly
Arlovski was the highest paid fighter on the UFC 82 bill
........ & apparantly wants the same as Chuck to stay
Really like Arlovski but hasn't been that impressive in his past few fights - think we've seen the last of him in the UFC unless common sense prevails

I wouldnt say the UFC were that impressed with his display on the night either, despite his win, his ground and pound was the gayest ground and pound ive seen from a heavyweight world champion, or ex world champion, Arlovkski looking for the ref to stop it, instead he should have been concentrating in putting it beyond doubt. People pay to see action, and thats all the UFC care about.
It is a bit of a joke though, their ranking system, or lack of it, surely Arlovski should be due a title shot again.
