On the other hand, it wouldn't really be fair to make India play with only seven players.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Not true, take Ponting, Hayden, Waugh and Slater out of the aussie line up and they still have players to back them up and they have the bowlers to pressure opposition with.

Also take the batsmen out of the Bangladesh team and they'd still be ****.

Slater? You should have stuck with Mark and Steve Waugh

The aussies would no way have been as dominant as they have been if you took 4 of their best batters out the side.

Did you watch cricket in the late '90's?

Michael Slater was a quality test player

So what we had quality Batsmen over the last 10 years...what's wrong with that?!

We've now good quality bowlers to go with the batting and some young players coming through as well.

Just concentrate on keeping this thread about New Zealand v England...this isn't a thread about India

Oh and at least we didn't rely on one player...Freddy Flintoff. Take him out the England team and in the main England have been pretty poor

Good player but wont go down as a great, unlike the Waugh brothers though

Sarb- England rely on all their non english players

                      Hang on, yes I can.

The bloke could take a game away from a side within a few overs.

Australia are excellent at bringing through new talent, unlike England, however, if they lost 4 of their best players long term without warning they would struggle. They would however, be able to bounce back within a couple of years. We don't have that conveyor belt of players and so will have to wait a lot longer. We have been rubbish for years, decades even, however, we got lucky and around 2003 we had clutch of very good players in the same age group who started peak. In two years they showed unbelievable potential and it is just a shame that they were robbed of showing what they were capable of. IMO that group of players was good enough to reach the world number 1 spot.

Good comeback by England, but I cant help feeling they made hard work of beating a very poor NZ team
