    Tarver vs Woods

It's a who's who of the powerful light heavy division. Each a current or former world champion, they've all fought the division's best. Now against each other...Can Tarver take Wood's IBF title, or will Woods derail Tarver's dream of becoming the undisputed champ again?

Margarito vs Cintron and Gomez vs Cotto

In the main event, a welterweight title will be at stake as rising star Miguel Cotto (31-0, 25 KOs), from Caguas, Puerto Rico, takes on Alfonso Gomez (18-3-2, 8 KOs), from Whittier, Cal., in a scheduled 12-round contest. With convincing wins over Shane Mosley and Zab Judah in his past two fights, the skilled and powerful Cotto has proven more than worthy of the welterweight title he claimed in December 2006. His opponent Gomez looks to continue his high-profile journey to the top of the 147-pound division. Defeating the resilient Arturo Gatti with a seventh-round TKO last July, he defeated Ben Tackie by unanimous decision in his most recent fight in October.

The opening bout should be just as explosive, as welterweight champ Kermit Cintron (29-1, 27 KOs), from Reading, Pa., battles former champion Antonio Margarito (35-5, 25 KOs), from Tijuana, Mexico, in a title fight scheduled for 12 rounds. A devastating puncher with 27 knockouts in 30 fights, Cintron will be out for revenge in his third title defense - the only loss of his career came at the hands of Margarito, who knocked him out in the fifth round of their first showdown in April 2005. After losing his belt to Paul Williams in July 2007, Margarito now finds himself as the challenger as he seeks his second welterweight title. The winner of this fight will have an eye toward unifying the welterweight titles in a bout with the winner of the Cotto-Gomez contest.

I am really looking forward to seeing Kermit Cintron after his incredible ko (or near decapitation) v Matthysse last year .

I think Margarito has Cintron's number.

It's going to be an excellent night of boxing this Saturday / Sunday. Can't wait.

I'd like to see Cotto demolish Gomez and then call out PBF.

Hopefully Woods will do the job against Tarver. Tarver is pretty much finished.

Now that I'd like to see.

As for Woods - I just can't get excited over his fights as he has no personality. Shame coz he's worked really hard to come back after losing to Jones Jr and Glencoffe Johnson.

I'm surprised so many people are going for Cintron. Margarito absolutly bossed him the last time they faught.

This weekends boxing is fantastic. The only problem is that both cards will be on roughly the same time.......

                  Tarver vs Woods
The mega hyped Dawson vs Johnson

                  Gomez vs Cotto
                  Margarito vs Cintron

decisions decisions. I think i may have to watch Tarver vs Woods and then catch what i can of the welterweight double header.

For what it's worth i fancy

                  Woods
                  Dawson
                  Cotto and
                  Margarito all the win.

3 out of 4 aint bad.

                    Margarito is granite.

I was dissapointed in Woods last night, he was never really in the fight.

Margarito looked good again, him against Cotto would be a great fight.

If Hatton want's to pretend that he's a welterweight then i'd like to see him fight the likes of Margarito never-mind fighting PBF again.

Agreed on Woods. He appeared to freeze last night. Very lackluster fight.

Did you see Cotto? He was a class apart. You have to feel for Gomez. He shouldn't have been in the ring with Cotto.

Cotto vs PBF is THE fight in world boxing just now. I don't think PBF wants any part of him though. Shame.

Yeah mate, i saw the Cotto fight. He was just to good for Gomez, i think it was the right decision to stop that fight before Gomes got hurt.

Agree with the Cotto - Mayweather situation. Id love to see the fight, but think Mayweather is to interested in money fight, Like Hatton re-match and De la hoya fights.

Not just money fights, but fights against opponents he has already beaten.
Mayweather is a fine fighter, no doubt, if he would take on Cotto and beat him, he would be considered one of the all time great fighters, if he is not already.
Cotto is a very big threat to Mayweathers 0, and Mayweather knows it.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

Gomez should of been pulled out at the end of the 3rd where he'd just been knocked down again. His corner were ******s. Even Cotto eased up because he knew Gomez was in deep deep ****e.

Woods was garbage. Wasn't all that impressed with Dawson but Johnson is one tough ****er so will have to see him some more before ripping him to shreds.

Cintron as the commentators said just had his heart broken, he threw his best and it didnt even move Margo then he just got more and more ragged and the stoppage was inevitable.
