Btw, my prediction for this thing with Jericho and the legends. Stone Cold's being inducted into the HOF this year too.........
Jericho still in line to face Flair. Don't think its Austin, they want his final fight to be against The Rock next year at Wrestlemania. Talking about Jericho, his promos with legends have been nothing short of brilliant.

FFS. The Flair - HBK match last year was a fitting end to his career, bringing him back to fight Jericho, who isn't even remotely the in-ring performer that Michaels is, would be silly, pointless, and totally demean last year's events. I really hope they don't do that, its not like Flair could legitimately win. A decent swerve, like Stone Cold, would be much much better.

As long as its not Mickey Rourke though, that would be even more insane.

Aye, the promo with Steamboat (probably my fav. of all time) was cracking, Ricky was never good on the mic during his career but his delivery was suprisingly excellent.

I couldn't disagree with any of that if I tried.

BTW - Christian needs to be careful he doesn't bury Swagger too much on the mike as he might not recover.

Yeah, I agree Flair would be silly and would totally undermine last years match of the year but you couldn't seriously suggest Austin? Austin is a legend, to be fair however we are talking pure legends, who are good wrestlers, who are still part of the business and know how to deliver cold promos and gain reactions without actually saying anything. You have to feel that could Austin deliver the same style of promo to Jericho without 'WHAT?' coming from the crowd? Could you imagine Austin taking a loss to Jericho at Wrestlemania?

Paul Heyman who now has a column in The (I read this on a wrestling site) mentioned how Jericho has matured from a rocker to a throwback of great wrestlers from the AWA, NWA and WWWF times. Jericho has always had it in his locker to perform amazingly well and credit to the creative team to allow him to have influence on what should and should not be said.

Hogan was another name touted however Hogan - Jericho would be awful. PWTorch's Wade Keller believes Jerry Lawler would be a good opponent but you got to feel that the younger audience still view Lawler as someone who shouts 'puppies' whenever a woman is on screen. Jerry Lawler to my knowledge has not fought in singles competition at Wrestlemania so you could imagine him jumping at the gun for the 25th anniversary. I would love the Macho Man to come out, what with his DVD being released - unlikely to happen though.

I hope whichever legend they choose, Jericho wins.

What kind of dopey booking would make 2008 WWE wrestler of the year and title challenger lose to an old man, that'd be just plain stupid, yes let the veteran gets some beats in but make sure Y2J wins.

Alternatively how about a swerve? Jericho who's been bashing legends somehow intercedes in to the Undertaker vs Shawn Michaels match, Y2J vs two Wrestlemania legends.
              We come not to play.

Agree with all that. I don't think another confrontation with another legend is needed, it then becomes routine and predictable. With Mania being only 30 odd days away, which would mean another four, I think, shows from Mania, you would expect his opponent to step up and actually challenge him.

I hope they don't wheel out Sgt Slaughter who no fan actually cares about. At least, Flair, Piper and Steamboat have some sort of real legacy with the wrestling business. Slaughter is awful on the mic, I would doubt he could extend the storyline any further to pour more heat on Jericho. From what I do understand, Terry Funk is another name McMahon is thinking about. Now, whilst Funk is a legend from being part of one of the greatest tag teams in American wrestling and having the heart and soul to fight in some of the most excruciating fights, there isn't enough time in the world to convince casual fans to buy Wrestlemania if Terry Funk is Jericho's opponent.

Had Mick Foley not gone to TNA, I have no doubt, he would have been a good candidate for this job. He is possibly one of the best sincerely on the mic and can deliver a good fight as he isn't really past his best.

There are only a few wrestlers who you could say can fully deliver what has so far been a fascinating journey made by some fantastic promos not only from Jericho but some great HOL wrestlers.

Hmmmm, Storm speaks a lot of sense. Agrees with me about Stone Cold anyway.

Next week Stone Cold should just come out and stun him, at least twice. Someone else can do the match at Wrestlemania if they must but that would break the monotony of the legend beatdowns.

Hogan would be horrible. He's never been any good in the ring and was simply terrible by 2004, let alone now. Funk - maybe, but the kid wouldn't get it, it'd just be some old man to them. Slaughter would be horrible. Foley would have worked definitely, though his body can't take it anymore. Not sure any of them can to be fair

How about Ultimate Warrior, he made a comeback recently no?

I can't stand Jericho in the ring. Technically he's good, I'll concede that, and he's a great promo worker, but there's something about him I just hate watching. I think I just find his wrestling really uninspiring.

Oh, and for my obligatory TNA commentary - some decent writing imo now with the MEM - Sting v Angle should be good, Joe's gonna kill Steiner and if anyone can get a pre-2002 performance out of Booker T its AJ Styles. Fired Lance Rock now (meh, who cares), and it looks like Don King too (at last).

Kaz might finally be fit enough to actually wrestle as Suicide (good because he's one of the most innovative and interesting "small-guys" in wrestling) and there's one of their ultimate-X matches coming up which are usually good. That's the one thing you notice now with WWE you know, there's not enough matches with real speed going on these days compared to the "attitude era". Give me Shelley/Sabin v Creed/Consequences on Impact over Koslov & that guy with the ridiulous Beard on WWE anytime.

Oh, and the "knockouts" on TNA are actually getting quite good. Makes the divas look embarassing when you see things like Kong powerbombing one onto another (looked really painful, I swear Raka Kahn who was on the bottom was actually sick from the impact)

RAW was dire. Snuka came out for Jericho's weekly segment of bash the legend.

The WWE title will be contested in a triple threat - although I prefer the term, three way dance - with Big Show added to the mix, I seriously don't know why. Maybe they felt they needed to freshen up a match which we have seen time and time again on RAW and various rubbish PPV's.

Shawn Michaels beat Kozlov - awful wrestler - to face the Undertaker, can't wait.

Triple H will face Randy Orton but must not touch Orton in the build up to the fight. I hear the yawns already.

Raw was an improvement on last week bar a few things. The rushed story line between Show and Edge and the comical Triple H runs after Randy Orton Part II or **** horror slasher movie part XXXXXVIII.

I'm looking forward to Michaels - Undertaker.

The HHH - Orton thing reminded me of Stone Cold - Pillman a few years ago, only even more ****. Love the way "the police" arrived in like, 2 minutes, must be a station right next door

Guess he'll be "in custody" for a couple of weeks then, save them having to do a lot else with the storyline before 'mania.

Edge - Show - Cena gets a massive meh from me. Cena's promos have been quite funny but the storyline is pants, Vicky gets so much of her own heat I'm not sure how the dynamic is now supposed to work with Edge's massive amount of heat. Cena will win, I'm sure of it.

Michaels - Taker should be a classic. Great build-up promos too, even if taker does fluff the odd line.

25 dive battle royal? YAWN, that'll be utterly rubbish. What happened to Gail Kim's return, at least she's not an embarassment in the ring.

                            Oh, and JBL intercontinental champ?

Got to say the build thus far for mania has been far from impressive, not looking forward to any of the title matches.

Money in the Bank as always is good entertainment and of course Taker vs Michaels should be great too.

Its Mania but with Smackdown/Raw type matches

I see both Kane and the World's fattest man are both in the MITB match, the idea of Mark Henry climbing a ladder is pretty hilarious to say the least
