Stone Cold is the best listen out of all of those unless he's out doing fishing or hunting. Then it's a right bore.

I find Jericho annoying and JR a tad bit creepy. Colt Cabana probably has the best wrestling podcast around, from a wrestler standpoint. Wrestling Observer trumps Torch, Grantland and PWinsider.

Actually quite like when Austin does a podcast about fishing but then again I fish

Had forgotten about Colt Cabana's podcasts. His would be a notch above Austin's for me.

Do agree that Jericho's can be boring but as I said I think the quality of his podcasts depend upon how chatty/interesting his guests are rather than anything he does. Jericho left to his own devices tends to result in a very "safe" conversation in which he bends over backwards to avoid saying anything that is even in the slightest bit off the beaten track, but when there is a good talker on his show then it can be good.

Jericho's early podcasts were awful though as he seemed to just throw in a nervous laugh after every third or fourth thing his guest said and when he was not throwing that laugh in he was adding a big "WOW!" to whatever the guest said. He has improved though (or maybe has just gotten guests chatty enough to cover up his bland interviewing lol)

Colt asks really good questions. Granted his knowledge aint great but he seems genuinely interested in the past of these former/current wrestlers. It's funny when Punk is on and has weird banter with him.

I agree with you on Jericho. Jericho just comes across as incredibly stuck up and overrates his own ability at times.

I haven't heard great things about Taz's podcast. Doesn't Jim Duggan have one as well?

Colt's chats with Punk can be quite good. Their injokes can grate a little at times, especially when Punk then addresses the listeners and tells them that they would not get it, but even so they make for a far more listenable pairing than say the trainwreck that was the Jericho/Sabu podcast or the staged crap that was the Austin/McMahon podcast.

Don't think Colt's knowledge is that bad though. His WWE and TNA knowledge is weak but it is pretty strong when it comes to Japanese stuff and a lot of the Indie stuff. Plus he generally has a pretty good rapport with whoever he has on, and is not afraid to touch on topics that other interviewers seem to shy away from. You also get the impression that he is enjoying doing the podcasts.

Jericho is not a good interviewer at all, but ,as I said earlier in the thread, his podcast can be good when the guest is prepared to do all the talking. Would not subscribe to his show but do download certain episodes when there is a band member, wrestler or someone talking about cryptozoology on that I want to hear from.

I tried to listen to Taz a couple of times and found him to be awful. No idea if Jim Duggan has a podcast but don't think I would be rushing to listen to it if he has. Might be a bit unfair to say so, but based on past interviews I would imagine any podcast of his to be boring and horribly dated.

Not a fan of Piper's podcast either although he does get some interesting non wrestling guests from time to time.

Jesse Ventura's podcast I listened to a few episodes of as well as he gets a mix of politicians, wrestlers, oddballs, and nutjobs on his show and it usually means an utterly shyte listen or one that is unintentionally funny.

You say that about Punk but the double podcasts they served last year were phenomenal. Absolutely must listen stuff.

I thought Colt's interview with Scott Hall last year was excellent. He really delved into Hall's problems and made the listener make their own opinion about Hall.

I can imagine what Jesse's podcasts are like

It's a shame wrestling doesn't have their version of Ariel Helwani who is brilliant at interviewing guests. You have David Shoemaker and Sam Roberts but both come across as fanbois at times. Great knowledge but don't really challenge the wrestlers with questions. It's also a bit hard considering they play a character as to being themselves like they are in MMA.

I am not knocking Punk or Colt as I think both are very easy to listen to and both tend to say what they have to say and leave it up to the listeners to make their own minds up , and I agree that the back to back podcasts they did last year were great listens. What I was referring to as tiring is how they often share an injoke and then feel the need to explain to the listener that it is an injoke. Would imagine that the majority of listeners know that there is a connection between the two lads and know when something is an injoke or personal to the two lads, and as such do not need things to be dumbed down to the point of being told a few seconds later that it was an injoke.

What did make me laugh a lot after the Punk interview/venting on Colt's podcast was the rush by others to have their views put across in other podcasts. Ryback going on Jericho's podcast and McMahon going on Austin's podcast being two examples of this. Those podcasts just felt so forced and so staged and it was obvious that it was an attempt at damage limitation after what Punk said.

McMahons podcast was announced about 3 weeks before Colts came out. I dont think it was a reaction thing either, as Stone Cold had talked about working on something with the WWE for a while before hand.

Colt's interview with Punk had also been mentioned weeks before it actually came about and it was made clear that Punk would be getting the air time to get a few things off his chest.

Plus the fact that McMahon on Austin's podcast and Ryback on Jericho's podcast responded directly to stuff Punk had said on Colt's podcast had a whiff of being staged so that some of the sting would be taken out of what Punk said..

I don't think McMahon being on Austin's podcast was a reaction to Punk. IIRC, there was a PPV or a Raw and it was announced that he was on the following week. Punk and Colt's podcast came out on Thanksgiving and McMahon was on the following Monday so it had to be addressed by Austin. I don't think Austin pressed the issue enough with either Triple H or McMahon because you could tell, both were clearly bull****ting about firing him on his wedding day and them not having any issues with him.

WWE asked Austin to do the show rather than vice versa. They were doing the free month on the Network in November and needed people to subscribe and watch for the month and make it worthwhile for fans besides just having the Survivor Series on that month.

Yep McMahon was given a very easy time of it by Austin, and I think that you will only see McMahon on podcasts that toe the party line and that do not ask him any questions that he has not given the ok on.

The wedding day thing was utter bull****. Not a chance that they did not know what they were doing and that they did not know it was Punk's wedding day. Hell the woman he was marrying is a WWE employee who had to book the time off for the wedding and honeymoon so even harder for them not to know the date.

Was a really scummy thing to do

                          WRESTLEMANIA 31

                          WWE Championship
                          Brock Lesnar v Roman Reigns

                          Triple H v Sting

                          US Title
                          Rusev v John Cena

                          Undertaker v Bray Wyatt

                          Randy Orton v Seth Rollins

                          Intercontinental Ladder Match
Bad News Barrett v Dean Ambrose v Daniel Bryan v Dolph Ziggler v R Truth v Stardust v Luke Harper

                          Andre The Giant Battle Royal

AJ & Paige v The Bellas

So it looks like Mania has been booked. The four team tags match is again on the pre show. Sucks to be the Usos, considering they've had a decent year in a division of nothingness.

                          WHO'S EXCITED?

                          NO ONE? Yeah, looks underwhelming.

That is a horribly boring looking line up.

No interest in the main event.

No interest in Hunter - Sting

No interest in Blandy - Rollins

                            No interest in Rusev- Cena

Slight interest in Taker - Wyatt

Ladder match has the potential to entertain but it is a waste of the likes of Bryan, Ambrose, and Ziggler imo. Those three should be used in 1 v 1 bouts

                            Divas match = piss break

Andre's royal rumble = misfits and rejects = dull.

Would have put Sting and Taker together. The match itself would be nothing special technically, but the build could have been awesome and if done right then in ring stuff could have been enhanced with run ins etc

Seth Rollins I would have liked to have seen against one from Ziggler/Bryan/Ambrose. Ok maybe not all that original but you would get an eye catching and entertaining match.

Think its quite an exciting card. I can remember previous years where most of the matches apart from 2/3 were thrown together in the last 2 weeks.

The top 5 you have mentioned all have been going for around 2 months minimum. Interest is strong here, regardless of what its been like building up.
