    Joe Calzaghe vs Bernard Hopkins

This should be one of the most hyped fights of the year as one of the most dominant boxers in the last few years takes on a future Hall of Famer in B- Hop. Anyway, your reaction and predictions are more than welcome.

Its seems like everyone is in on the act. Here's Ricky.

Ricky Hatton has backed Joe Calzaghe to defeat Bernard Hopkins in Las Vegas this weekend.

Hatton, who was knocked out by Floyd Mayweather in December, told the BBC that he expected his fellow Brit to produce a different result against Hopkins on his debut fight in the US on Sunday.

"Joe can't do any wrong in my eyes - as a boxer he's the complete package," said Hatton.

"Whether the fight be in Wales or America, Joe is just the better man."

Calzaghe, 36, is undefeated in 44 fights and is having to step up to the light-heavyweight division to fight the 43 year-old Hopkins.

And former heavyweight champion Lennox Lewis has said that the fact the fight is the Welshman's debut in the US may become a factor.

"It is an advantage for Hopkins and an issue for Calzaghe because he has never travelled [to America] for a fight," Lewis said.

"Now he actually has to travel, get readjusted, stay for quite a while in a brand new environment. That has to have some kind of effect on you.

"All of a sudden the whole world is focused on you. You are not at home any more, your fans are travelling. Some boxers can adjust and some boxers can't, we are going to have to see whether he can make the adjustment or not."

The fight will be Calzaghe's first in Las Vegas, having fought the majority of his career fights in his native Wales, but he maintains watching Hatton's bout against Mayweather last year inspired him.

"Seeing Ricky getting thousands of fans on the other side of the world was incredible and gave me a real buzz," he said.

"I wanted to get a bit of that before I retired because it is the only thing missing from my record."

Calzaghe will take on Hopkins at the Thomas & Mack Centre during the early hours of Sunday morning.

Calzaghe to win by stoppage in or after round 8. Hes one of my sporting heroes so ill be devastated if by some miracle he loses.

calzaghe to win on points or a late round stoppage. the big man can take a good puch so he should wear down the older hopkins - tire him out then land some big punches late on.
People who think there's no good way to die have obviously never heard the phrase 'Drug-fuelled-sex-heart-attack'.

I've made a pig ears out the title. Can a mod change the spelling please?

I think it will be a points decision in favour of Hopkins.

Damn right, that said I know my boxing as well, id be very surprised if Hopkins won at this stage of his career. Theres always a chance dont get me wrong, and in this case it has all the ingredients for an upset, first time at a new weight, first time in the states, fighting an ageing legend who probably wants to revisit past glories etc etc

But I think Joe is too classy and careful to get suckered, ill stand by my opinion and say Calzaghe to win by lateish stoppage.

If Calzaghe puts on a show like he did against Lacy, do you reckon Hopkins would last the 12 rounds?

Calzaghe should win this pretty comfortably if the judges are alright, his work rate, punch output and speed will be to much but Hopkins is one crafty ****er. Hopkins has never been stopped and wont be here unless he's finished and age has badly caught up with him.

Hopkins wont allow that to happen. Lacy is a mug (not that i'd say it to his face mind) and was all hype.

Cheers, think I'll back Calzaghe on points then. Might have a few quid on a late stoppage anyway, he's at 34's on bluesquare to do him in the 10th, 11th or 12th.

At them odds it's defo value, if he did stop him it would be late so defo worth a little go on them odds.

                            Think I'll have a dabble.

If anyone's interested in Calzaghe in the 12th, you can also get 41's with boylesports and 51's with extrabet.

I'm far from being a Calzaghe hater but people seem to forget the in-ring smartness of B-Hop. He is a very crafty boxer which many won't like but I just feel with the Enzo Calzaghe gym having lost twice in big title matches in the last couple of months, he might feel the pressure but it might be a helluva performance. Can't wait.
