I wasn't really referring to him getting out, merely the fact that England haven't been 'rescued' at all by Pietersen. Milky must've missed Bell's ton, Cook's 60 odd and Strauss' 40 odd.

Four hundred and summat for 4 and we've been rescued

I see, good points. Yes Bell has been particularly good, he always seems to be under pressure to keep his place, as it should be i suppose, but it's been a great innings.

Colly out now too, he is far from justifying his place.

Yep, Colly will lose his place to Flintoff for the next Test IMO. Shame, he's a good player and a good bloke but his form has totally deserted him.

              .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

I'm shocked that Bell has done so well but he was never a #3 IMO.

Colly is definitely heading for the chop, Shah has been banging on the door for ages and never really been given a chance. Would be reluctant to swap Colly for Flintoff if he's in the kind of form with the bat that he was before his op.

Vaughan is lucky he's a good captain, anyone else and he'd have been bombed out of the side a while back.

Good to see England sorting out the wheat from the chaff

Anyone think Simon Jones is due a recall. His form for his county has been top notch, he's got his pace back and he can swing the ball, at pace, both ways.

If Sidebottom is still suffering from back pain come the second test, i think Jones could be in with a shout. But even if Sidebottom is fit, i tihnk that Jones could offer more than Anderson.

Pattinson in the team FFS. What a ****ing joke. An Aussie FFS. How has he jumped ahead of Jones, Hoggard (especially at Headingley) and Harmison?????????????????

                                No because Pietersen isn't Australian.
