Got no qualms with KP for that shot. It's one of them where if it comes of the commentators would be creaming themselves and calling him outstanding, nothing fazes him etc...but cos he didn't middle it he's reckless and not playing for his country? Nah, bollocks that is. KP is aggressive, and long may it continue.

Made me laugh tho, Collingwood reached 94 and the commentator says "he won't try and hit Harris for six like KP, he'll be quite happy to take the ones and twos"...two balls later, wallop...and no one criticised him for taking an undue risk.

I think what compounded it for KP was that he played the switch-hit and two reverse sweeps earlier as well. Yes when it comes off its spectacular, but given the situation England is in, he did not need to take risks. The runs were flowing and him losing his wicket at that stage was just a waste and as so often happens one wicket leeds to another and Flintoff followed him 4 balls later.

England looking good again now and their lead already represents a good challenge for SA. They have fought back well

Great Test match. That's why I always prefer the 5 day game. The Shorter game just doesnt have the same swing in Fortunes

Yep, and this had plenty of twists and turns. Unfortunately I 'posted too soon' earlier - it all went limp after tea.

England was a bowler short today. Smith and Boucher were the last batsmen with a realistic chance of getting the runs. If Flintoff wasnt exhausted after tea it would have been a different game

It will be interesting to see what changes are made to the England squad for the Final test. Six batsmen and 4 bowlers is just not the right balance for a 5 day Test.

On paper it looks a much stronger batting lineup. On form, who knows.

I actually think Collingwood might put in a performance, he seems the type who would have knuckled down and worked his arse off after being dropped. If he does it won't be pretty to watch but he could make a big score.

Not much in the way of variety in the bowling attack if Plan A doesn't work though.
