On a different note, the rowing and cycling has been good, i didn't think rowing could be so enjoyable, the distance some of the boats come from behind to win is fantastic, timing eh.
I watched the women just miss out earlier, they came from miles back, stormed..well not stormed really, it's more stroke by stroke, but that adds to the fun, you can see the boat catching up..then gradually nosing ahead, they left it too late though, Bronze, but should have been gold, they had plenty left to give but ran out of distance, should have started the attack earlier.
The men's race was great too, leaving it late, the Aussies went early...built a big lead, looked as though it was their race, powerful rowing, but our lads started the hunt, slowly gaining, the nose of the GB boat nudging forward, you can see it hauling the Aussies in, bit by bit it works it's way along the side of the Australian craft till they are level.
Each boats tip stroke for stroke level in the water, this continues for a good 10 strokes, then **** me if the Aussies don't start to edge ahead again, looks like we've blown it, we must be tired after that effort to catch them, our attempt to break them looks dead in the water,but no, we go again, this time we are level for just two or three strokes, and the Aussie resolve is broken, and we surge ahead, just as well too....as the finishing line is here, perfectly timed. Gold.
It's great to watch it play out, especially when we win.Comment

Records tumble as Jang takes gold
Super heavyweight Jang Miran broke three world records to claim South Korea's second Olympic weightlifting gold in Beijing on Saturday.
The 24-year-old snatched 140kg and then set another record with 186kg in the clean and jerk. Her combined efforts beat the previous overall best by 7kg.
Ukraine's European champion Olha Korobka won silver with Kazakhstan's Mariya Grabovetskaya bronze.
China's Mu Shuangshuang, Jang's main rival, was missing from the event.
Countries can only enter a maximum of four of the seven women's categories and the Chinese prioritised weight classes in which they were more certain to win.

What an absolutely ****ing great weekend at the Olympics. All those medals for Team GB and Bolt's quite frankly insanely quick 100m. I am loving these games - roll on 2012.

****in Drug Cheats, they've tainted my experience of the Athletics, i can't look at a performance without wondering, suspecting.
The worst thing about it is that the better the performance the more i doubt an athletes credibility, which is just wrong.
The cheats have truly soiled a great sport, so that the clean athletes suffer..... even when they win, Shame.

I kipped off on the sofa on Saturday night/Sunday morning with a bottle of Coke and an emergency pork pie whilst watching the marathon. I take my inspiration from the dedication of the athletes.
Woke up in time to see Phelps win his 8th gold and Pendleton break the Olympic record in her individual pursuit qualifying.
Oh and I love Kelly Sotherton......even though she was a bit crap.Comment
