The only embarassing thing was that Boris Johnson was there as mayor of London. At least he didn't fall over or try to order a take-away.

It was a bit cack but I think people are making too big a deal about it. It was only a tiny little bit to say London is now the Olympic city, yet people are acting as if that is what the opening ceremony of 2012 will be like. Let's face it, can anybody remember China's section at the Athens closing ceremony, or Athens' at the Sydney games?

I suppose it gives the organisers a good idea about the scrutiny they are going to face for the next 4 years.

I didn't see the closing ceremony, so I'm not sure what you're referring to? I thought Boris Johnson's speech was hilarious. I know he's a tit, but he's quite an entertaining tit.
