I think he would trade all of the Above for One French Open Title

        Yep, I agree....

Until he wins he wins the French, there will always be question marks over the "best ever" label.

          Not for me.

He is up against the greatest clay-court player of all time yet consistently reaches finals. He is beating EVERYBODY, bar the all-time great. Sampras couldn't do that.

IMO Federer is, by a distance, the greatest player of my lifetime and almost certainly the best of all-time.

Federer is undoubtedly the best tennis player ever, statistics and plain common sense can clearly prove that. At the moment Federer has his "nemesis" in Nadal and lets be fair if Nadal wasnt the greatest ever clay court player then Fed would already have exceeded Sampras' slam total.

When Sampras was playing i thought he was the best ever, which at that time i guess he was, how amazing is it that in such a short time frame we already have someone better!

            Whatever next eh........

Is his record 17 finals, 13 titles?? 3 losses to Nadal on clay, and one on the grass at Wimbledon??

Tennis on clay is like smooth peanut butter, totally unnecessary
