Freddie Roach is a poor trainer?

I think Khans problem is he's just to stupid to take good coaching and tactical instruction, and also he's not smart enough in fight.

I've always thought that, and felt it would stop him becoming what he could have, he's always going to be prone to getting caught by the ring-smart opponents he faces. imo.

It's his biggest flaw for me.

time to start fresh ......new team what can roach teach him now? nothing new imo ....needs a new ideas from a new trainer...was referring to khan as poor training ie the way he drops his guard etc .......

Khan needs to stop trying to please the crowd and concentrate on doing a job. A lot of potential trainers will think he is not capable of following a game plan so will not be interested in him.

His old conditioning coach Alex Ariza was not very complimentary about Reuben Rabares (the new conditioning coach) either.

1st 2 rounds he was getting through with good crisp shots and if the fight had kept going like that only one winner.

3rd round they changed tactics going to the body and Kahn probably relaxed into the fight thinking he was in control made a huge mistake and payed the price.

Agreed, he's thick as ****. Has no ring I.Q whatsoever. Can get away with it v most given his other attributes but at the top level he's always going to be prone to that happening. Worringly that was an opponent he should have got away with it against. Hopefully this shuts him up about Mayweather for a while now aswell, he was still at it on Friday!

Was gonna suggest his attributes and faults would be perfect for Manny Steward to work with but if he doesn't listen it doesn't really matter who trains him.

If I was Khan I would seriously consider leaving Roach. He still has the same flaws, jump in, throw a flurry of punches and leave himself open to be countered which Garcia did. People bang on about his hand speed. I'm not knocking this because he clearly has fast hands, however all it takes is someone with good timing and you can negate that problem. It took Garcia a couple of rounds to get into his rhythm and once he started timing his punches he was able to counter Khan. Not sure how many years he's been with Roach but can anyone honestly say that Khan has an inside game? Hell no. He has no inside game whatseover and you saw this again last night. It's a long road back for Khan I'm afraid.

True, it is horrible to see him just lean back against the ropes and invite punishment. I also do not get his trying to trade toe to toe when he is clearly hurt.

Seriously, I think he should forget about it now and just go get married, start a family and enjoy his life.

he's 25 he won't quit yet it's simple he needs educating in the art of boxing and that is not with freddie roach .....he needs to use his speed >>> punch punch move out >>> punch punch move out not move in and trade punch with punch

Useless knob, Embarrassing as always. Im so glad that people are seeing the real Khan now. Put him up against a big puncher and he will always go down. He's had potential but never progressed.
They should never have gave him his belts back in the first place, dude spends all his time talking about Floyd Mayweather and yet he stilll doesn't know how to defend himself

I know we aren't each others biggest fans but I never like to see a fellow Brit lose. I'm sure we will meet someday but for now hope Amir is ok

I know he is frustrating V, but come on.

Its ia big IF I know, but IF he had followed the gameplan of the first 2 rounds where he totally outboxed teh guy (and cut him) who knows what would have happened. The boxing ability is there, its just he leaves himself very open to big counters and no matter who you are those are going to have an effect.

Agree that he should not always talk about Floyd, but he wants wanted that big payday and was just playing the 'game'.

I don't think dropping Freddie Roach is the answer. He is a very good coach. Mind you, he might just need some new ideas. But dropping Roach would be wrong at this stage in his Career.
