What I can'd understand is why Macklin's corner didn't tell him to slow down - and take things a little easier. He was going at such a pace that he was never gonna be able to go 12 rounds. I said to my wife at the end of the 9th round that I can't see Macklin lasting much longer - and so it turned out. He's a very lucky man - things could have been far worse.........

IMO Billy Graham is culpable for this defeat. I think he overestimated macklin's power and energy and got the tactics wrong - very nearly with dire consequences.

I thought that Billy Graham should have pulled macklin out of the fight at the end of the ninth because you could see that he couldn't even walk straight. As it happened he never pulled him out and Macklin got sparked out with one of the most sickening K.O.s I've seen in a long time.

Is exactly right. Even an armchair fan such as myself could see there was nothing left for Macklin. The BBBC should look into this. Billy Graham did himself and the sport no favours the other night. He's gone down in my estimation.
