Following the recent decision to release Dominic Cork Lancashire have now announced the decision to release captain Stuart Law. He will be replaced as captain by Glen Chapple, and as batsman by ????
Lancashire stated that they are looking to give more opportunities to the youngsters, but they already looked very weak on batting - Chilton and Loye, their remaining experienced batsmen, have been so poor recently that they were left out for long periods last season. They have the unimpressive Kolpakker DuPlessis and some young talent in Horton, Croft and (questionably) Brown. Little else that I can see.
Last season their batting was so poor that the amazing fact was that if they had equalled the batting bonus points of bottom team Surrey, Lancashire would have won the title. Now they've weakened some more. They need a good overseas player, but recent history suggests they'll not find one. I think that hopes of seeing the title drought come to an end are all but extinguished.
