I have always liked the mizuno blades that they have done over the years - but if I was going to get a set of blades I'd go for



A superb set of irons, great look and feel - also the model no. 690 MB - (my initials are MB) When they first came out and not my many people had heard/seen them, I was going to get a set and blag to everyone that I'd had them custom made with my initials stamped in!!!

yeah a mate of mine ahs a set of those....very nice also.

Im a big fan of Mizzy's though, they feel good and look good, and you know they will perform.

As a side note i have a pretty much brand new Cobra F-Speed driver for sale if anyone here would like it send me a pm for pics etc. It was my main driver for a few months, until i scored a Nike SQ tour with a $500 shaft all for $400. , which is now safely numero uno. The thing is a beast.

Never been a fan of Taylor Made, and Ping haven't appealed to me over the years either.

I play with Wilson Deep Red Fat Shafts - have done so for over 4 years now, and I've found them very forgiving and my iron play has improved since using them. I play off 10 these days but I don't get to play that often - I've joined the local club (Aberystwyth Golf Club) each year (apart from last year) but have only played one competition this year. I used to play every week when I first joined (about 15 years ago) for about 10 years solid but I've not played much regular golf these past few years. Marriage and a kid does that to you - I must start getting out of the house more and onto the golf course for a change.

I currently use a Nike driver (can't remember off hand which one), and although I struggled to hit a driver well about 10 years ago once you find the driver that suits you you can't go wrong - but it's a matter of finding clubs that suits your swing and game I suppose. I have a very shallow swing and don't get much height in my shots but it helps in dry weather as it runs all day!

Yeah I use Deep Red Fat Shafts as well. Found it's also given me extra yardage, so that screwed up my game for a while, as my distance went to pieces..

i would highly recommend getting a new driver Shaggy.....the technology has changed dramatically in drivers recently. The new Titleist drivers are very very nice.

Hehe...I've got a newer driver. I get all my old man's hand-me-downs as far as woods go. Got a Callaway Big Bertha! 10 degree I think. I won't be changing that though, I hit the cnut miles!

At least you get to play a fair bit. I've got two very young kids so its pretty difficult to spent 6 - 7 hours on the course on weekends regularly. I try to go to the driving range 2 or 3x a week with my son. I now play 2x a month and its on a 9-hole course , 1st flight so that I still have the rest of the day with the family. I try to play 18-holes once a month on weekeday and have to use my annual leave for this. Playing conditions in Spore this time of the year is hazardous, heavy lightning activity and play gets suspended / stopped quite frequently.

They are a superb set. Unfortunately I can't play using blades, yet.

I noticed the extra yardage too when I changed to the Deep Red - my old clubs has the smaller heads on them so the bigger sweet spot made a big difference and gave me much more confidence to go for shots.

I suppose if I really wanted to go for a few holes I could every so often but most of the time I just can't be bothered. If I join next year I must make more of an effort to get out on the course as there's no better feeling that being out there and hitting great shots!

He's failed his putting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! One mark off! He has passed the whole Academy level because he got full marks on the other disciplines but his putting had improved! He is gutted! One ****in mark!

Learning to play Golf is one of the things on my list of things to do that has been sitting unticked for about 4 years now. part of the problem is that I need a starter set and haven't got a clue what to get. If anyone can throw a few recommendations in they would be gratefully recieved.
