It's ****in madness out there, a coordinated attack by groups of gunmen, hostages taken, indiscriminate killing of innocents, just pretty sick stuff really, looks like it'll be on-going with western hostages having been taken, poor ****ers, having seen what these tossers have already done then being a hostage and from the west isn't a good position to be in at all.

I've missed the news and only just caught the headlines. Terrible events.Originally posted by The_Milkman View Post78 killed
Flintoff and Broad out of final 2 games.
Er, I assume your two pieces of news aren't connected, yes?.
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

Yeah, that's what's being said at the moment. However the England team are decamping to Blighty imminently, supposedly with the idea of going back for the Test matches once things have calmed down.Originally posted by The_Milkman View PostArn't they? I thought the test matches were going ahead...
However, they would probably need to return to India next week - will the situation really be calmer then? Even if it is, will the England players feel safe enough to return? In answering that you have to consider they were staying in the Taj only two weeks ago.
Also, the Mumbai Test needs to be shifted and this all needs to be done so the players can get back to England for Christmas as per the original plan.
Obviously there will be much to-ing and fro-ing between the BCCI and ECB with the former no doubt very keen to keep the Test matches while the latter will be mainly worrying about keeping the players happy (while not losing any money for forfeiting the series).
Given all that, I wouldn't be surprised if the Tests end up being cancelled but we'll see.
As Dhoni has reportedly said, "We're entertainers. Now is not the time to entertain.".
