    I think the lack of spinners is due to the pitchs here. Our pitches just aren't set up for spin anymore. You used to take 2 spinners to the SCG for games, now its only 1. The pitches just dont crack up.

    Krejza is ok, but he just gets smashed all over the park too much. Hauritz did pretty well today, took a couple, and didn't go for many runs. He doesn't spin it much though.

      The saddest thing was we had Stuey MacGill sitting there waiting in the wings who was at his peak at the same time. He was just as good as Warnie IMO.

        any other time and Macgill would have been a star spinner, just bad timing to come through with Warney.

          What an innings! How good is JP Duminy? Amazing considering it's only his second match, lads going to be a top player.

          To think we could have a lead is crazy. Hopefully we can knock over a a couple before stumps. A tricky period for the Aussies after that dreadful day on their behalf.

            jesus, we just couldnt get him out. Unbelievable

            Lee was off all day with a foot problem too.

              It really depends on how you guys bat, if you stick around for the day and bring up around 300 going into the last day with 3 or 4 wickets in hand then yes. If you are bowled out tomorrow or early the next morning with between 250-300 to chase I'd expect us to win. Although if Australia bat well, it will almost certainly be a draw. The pitch looks good and I can't see it deteriorating so we'll see how it goes. 1-0 for us going into the last test wouldn't be too bad in my books.

                What an innings. This SA team have some real guts. Who'd have thought they'd winkle out a lead at 251-8?

                      Ponting out on 99. SA need to bat another session and a bit to knock off the runs. If the India series delivered the knockout punch, then the South Africans have just performed the final rites. Can England put the nail in the coffin this summer and end the Aussies dominance?

                          I dont know how some cricketers do it, i mean Duminy spent 6+ hours at the crease and kept his composure for the whole time, its amazing.
