Haven't seen much but it's getting more interesting. Michael van Gerwen had a three dart average of 99 tonight against Phil Taylor and still got stuffed 4-0! Amazing.

Also noticed the other day that last year's runner-up Kirk Shepherd got knocked out in the 1st round and promptly quit pro darts ....he's skint, reckons he's not good enough and is now looking for a job as a sheet-metal worker and will play on the wank BDO circuit.

Taylor is looking good and to be fair after the season he has had hes nailed on for the title.
****ing hope he gets it too, the man is a legend.

That kirk fella was ****ing useless, dont get me wrong 1 great tournament but never gonna make it as a top pro.

At least he tried though, no harm in that.

Hope Barney goes out tomorrow as for some reason I dont like the ****er.

Yep all through Shepherd's run last year I thought he was a real blagger, albeit inspired at times. IIRC every single player he beat missed about seven darts each to send him packing, but they kept missing and eventually he'd find the double. His throwing action looked all to cock and permanently on the brink of falling apart. I was surprised he could throw it straight on occasion.

Where's Steve 'The Adonis' Beaton this year? An old favourite of mine...

hes playing tomorrow i think. He did look good in the first round. And played well too!!!

Shame about Kirk, but even last year it looked like his throwing action was all over the place. Never seen a man rock so much on the ockey as he did.

Taylor is looking good, not hit top gear yet, but slowly building it up.

On a side note, got some Taylor Phase 5 darts in my xmas stocking...first arrow i threw hit the treble 20 (don't ask about the other two, we had a slight drift problem with them!)

Baxter - Barneveld last night was an absolute classic. Baxter didnt deserve to lose as he played his best darts in a long time.

Baxter was unlucky...2 darts to win that decider, and just couldn't find it...having said that, if Barney hadn't struggled on his doubles that night, it could so easily have been 4-0 to Barney.

How good was Taylor last night? Until the last set his average was about 115 and that included around only 40% of doubles hit, meaning in reality his three dart average was more like 120. I've never seen anyone hit so many T20s.

Looking good here isnt he. Wade and Barney will really have to up their game if they want to beat him and given the season he has had id say all opponents are ****ting themselves at the prospect of playing him over a really long game like the final will be!
