Pietersen 'resigns as England captain'
Captain had been in charge for three Tests
Had fallen out with England coach Peter Moores

Kevin Pietersen has resigned as England captain, according to Sky Sports News. There had been speculation that England's coach, Peter Moores, would lose his job after he fell out with Pietersen.
The ECB last night held talks aimed at resolving the issue and hierarchy were again involved in meetings this morning to discuss the situation. It has been reported that Pietersen blames the ECB for not acting quickly enough to resolve the problem.
Pietersen became England captain when Michael Vaughan resigned last August and had been in charge of the side for only three Test matches, including last month's 1–0 series loss in India. He won his first match in charge, against South Africa, the country of his birth.
England are due to fly to the West Indies to play four Test matches, a Twenty20 international and five one-day internationals on 21 January. This summer sees Australia arrive to contest the Ashes, in which the first Test starts at Lord's six months from tomorrow. Pietersen was an integral part of the side which won the Ashes under Vaughan in 2005.
Pietersen's agent could not be contacted to confirm or deny the report.

I agree, but apparently Moores does not have the full support of some of the other players in the team as well, so he'll probably go.
