Agreed. But not being able to fight in the States will hinder Arum trying to sell him as a PPV fighter, and there's no guarantee he'll get the license back. The Cotto fight was a decent step back in after Mosley handed him his arse, but if he's out of the top flight for a while he might struggle to come back.

I don't see how a fighter with Margarito's experience can sit there with a straight face and claim to not have known how his hands were being wrapped.

Cotto and Cintron will be watching this with interest, re the earlier fights.

You get banned for illegal wraps in the states yet can fight elsewhere, you can get a bleed on the brain and not be allowed to fight in some countries yet can go to Asia and still fight, its a joke.
I agree it is a joke but it will harm his reputation in the US and no doubt will make people question his legacy in the Welterweight division.

I hope we see a rematch with Cotto next year, in the mean time Cotto has Jennings and hopefully after that Mosley or Williams.

        r.e. Cintron.

You could have given Cintron a hammer in both fights and he'd still have been unable to knock Margarito out.

Perhaps so, but if Margarito had his hands plastered in those fights too, then Cintron has a case to feel agrieved. They are the only two defeats he has suffered, and he looked a ****ing state pretty early on in the first fight.

Equally, Margarito may never have done it before. But by doing it once he has dropped ink into the milk of his whole career.
